Kitchen is a place, which makes different kind of noises. Electric kettle, microwave, grinder and Frying pan on the cooker are the things which make different kind of noises. When I am busy in the kitchen my hubby and my children speak to me a lot. I used to shout at them that I hear nothing. But they don't bother about that. they continue talking. I get irritated in this situation. Friends How about your experience in this matter. Please share with me.

hi there
yeah i know there are just many different kinds of noises there but when someone call, i don't answer. i let them yell and yell until they get tired of it and just decide to come over to me to the kitchen and talk to me. i really don't like it when someone bothers me when i am in the middle of doing some work. but sometimes when i feel like it's something very important like in the tone of their voices, i answer and sometimes i take a peek. oh and i am kind of like the house keeper at the house, i do so much work and i try to finish all the chores right away. i don't like looking at messy things. so i don't like it when someone disturbs me

Thank you for your great idea. When we keep silent they will understand that we don't hear them and they will automatically come to the kitchen to tell their message to us. Hereafter I am going to use this method. Thanks again.

It my kitchen I have a microwave that makes lots of noise when it is working. I have an ever louder clothes drier. I bought a very quiet washing machine and it is excellent. I suggest you get a very loud door bell. My kitchen happens to be very close to my front door. When I am in the bedrooms I don't hear the phone when it rings. My phone ring is fairly quiet. Your kids and hubby should wait until you leave the kitchen.

Yes, you are correct. when there is big noise in the house being talked is not only the problem. talking to others is also a problem. My children make the volume of the TV very high and I have to shout to them.

When someone tells me something when I am in the bathroom, the noise of the water drowns out everything and even when the person shouts outside, I still could not hear a word being said. That is why sometimes the person trying to relay the message gets upset especially when it is something important. But I also get annoyed when people start bothering me when I am doing something in the kitchen or maybe in the bathroom. Can't some people leave us alone from time to time?

As a mother and housewife I also have the same feeling. I need time to me. Some times I feel sorry for me that I am unable to take bath even without disturbance. whenever i go to take bath my children speak and speak to me a lot.

Oh gosh yes it use to happen here at home too, and funny I could be in the same room and my boyfriend does not ask a question. But I get in the kitchen and I can hear this faint voice sort of repeating itself over and over. So I would walk over and say do you know you are speaking to yourself because I cannot hear a word. lol.. He then had to repeat himself.

My family members also do the same. when I sit with them in the living room they have nothing to tell to me. But When I am in the kitchen and busy with my works they have lots and lots of things to tell me. i wonder.

The exact same situation happens every day between me (in the kitchen) and my wife (in lounge): she talk to me, but I can't understand, and when I say "what did you say? Here there is noise and I do not understand, can you repeat?" she repeat with same volume and again I do not understand. So I shut off the water tap, or I go to the lounge and ask again: "how did you say?" and she just repeats the last part of the sentence, so I still do not understand what she means... But then I got tired of asking and she to repeat and so give up.
Then maybe after a few days we fight because she says she told me something but I never listen to her!!!!
Sometimes it seems to me like I'm in a sitcom!

these sort of fights happen in my family also. The reason is this hearing problem. so the kitchen noise problem is going on in many families. I think at schools there should be a lesson about the noises and clear talking.

I don't hear well either when cookin gin the kitchen because I have the vent turned on so the smell of cooking can be vented out so the house doesn't smell.
