Obama's right about these 2 week budgets, they need to stop

I'll bet a lot of you didn't expect me to start a threat with that. "We've already done that twice," Obama said in a surprise appearance at the White House briefing room. "That is not a way to run a government. "I can't have our agencies making plans based on two-week budgets." Now I'm never against the idea of congress taking their time to produce a proper budget, especially since they haven't put out a proper budget in nearly a decade. This budget however, should have been done a long time ago, even before Republicans took control of the house. The democrats never did it because they didn't have the guts to write a budget before election day. So what should we do with this budget? So far I haven't heard ANY ideas from Democrats on how to balance it or cut spending. Republicans have produced many budget proposals, but democrats don't want to stop printing money or handing out entitlements. We've already established that we can't possible raise taxes enough to even START balancing the budget. If we robbed the Forbes 400 of every penny they owned it would still come up shy of balancing the budget for even ONE YEAR. In case you democrats really do want to tax the rich, Paul Ryan made sure to propose an end to the tax breaks that allow General Electric to avoid paying taxes. Somehow that failed to please democrats since that's on big business they want to keep rich so it'll fund their campaigns. So, Obama's right. We need congress to stop playing around and pass a budget. The line needs to be drawn and they all have to do the job we elected them to do. So how are we going to fix, or start to fix this deficit, or should we just ignore deficits and keep funneling money to the leeches who have been sucking up entitlements for the last few years? http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/04/05/house-senate-leaders-head-white-house-ditch-dealing-budget/ http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/04/05/paul-ryan-right-budget-americans-afford-decade-massive-government-spending/

This has gotten so ridiculous. I too support not paying Congress when they are not doing their jobs. The way I see it, The House passed a bill. What exactly is the Senate doing besides whining?

I like what Richard Morris suggested. Rather than shut down the total government just defund several useless departments. I would start with the EPA, Energy Dept, Education Department, new Highway construction, all light rail. Who knows we may find that we can do without some of these agencies.

Yup, you can add DEA and ATF to that list. Then cut off foreign aid. That'll save a quick 70 billion or so.

I agree, they should get their job done! If I did my job as a parachute rigger as dismally as these oafs do theirs, the drop zones would be littered with bodies.

I'm with sonofmercury! Shut it down if they can't come to an agreement! And take their salaries for not doing their job!

Reid has pretty much said that it's the Republicans fault...na na na na...he did it first! kind of thinking. How juvenile. I've posted to my Congressman's facebook page, letting him know that people are not stupid and we will remember who tried to do their job and who whined. Maybe we all should flood Congress today and let them know we are watching this and we know who is doing their job and who isn't.
