I want to loose weight but each time i try and fail, it makes me gain more weight. Maybe Im using the wrong diet. My diet is consists of vegetables, fruits, and bit of protein. Some say, i should do portions and gradual minimizing of intake. It really takes a lot of work to loose weight. Years back, it was easy. Just a few skips of meals then I loose weight easily. But now, it is endless and yet no results. Plus i need to do exercises.

I understand. I have been doing weight watchers and I lost about 10 lbs now but I ate out with my sister twice in a row (one day we where out) and I gained 4 lbs and I didn't even eat that much it was what we ate. It took me three weeks to get back to where I had been just before that blah. Very hard to deal with. So now I am back down and I am sticking to it a little better now.

diets are a pain because when you eat to little the moment you eat alittle to much. bam you gain a pound. So i never diet but I do excercise daily to keep my weight where I want it.
Oh yea dont forgot sodium makes you bloat up so it will seem like you gained weight when you really havent. Just remember to drink water so all that salt wont add up. and restaurant food is loaded with salt so your prolly just bloated.

I exercise but I have a metoblic disorder that make sit hard to work off the weight. I do not use my insulin the right way so my sugars are always too low and my insulin levels are sky hi. I was told my whole life it was hypoglycmiea and that it would burn out my pancreas in time. Now they know better so it's medication and diets and hopefully a healthy me at some point.

Good for you. I should also do more exercise. Im really lazy when it comes to that. I only exercise when I feel to. Its like only once a week or even none. I really should put discipline in my diet. Its just so hard specially when everybody else in the house can eat what they want. sometimes im determined but sometimes im not. Discipline is what i need. :)

It sounds like your not eating enough.Dont get me wrong fruits and veggies ae great but you need a variation of different foods. You should be satisified and not starving.Skipping meals just makes your body go in survial mode and makes your metabolism burn fat super slow.
So eat normally one small dessert a week and. switch up your diet with beans, tuna, eggs, oatmeal, baked chicken, fish, etc.
Um for excercise you can jog while watching tv,jumping jacks, elliptical or you can run around your neighborhood, or um.. jump rope or dance.
Find a excercise you like and eat healthy but be full and you will be fine.

Um for water they say to divide your weight in half and thats how much water in ounces you should be drinking.
Example Lets say you are 180 pounds. you would do 180 divided by 2=90
So you would drink 90 ounces of water.
Trust me once you start drinking water and excercising you will be peeing like crazy but you will lose weight. I think its the body peeing out all that sodium.
Goodluck!
P.S dont try drinking 8 glasses of water at once.I nearly fainted I got a headache so bad from doing that.

Yeah I agree. I think skipping meals would only make me eat more when Im starving. I like your exercise suggestions. Sounds a fun way to do exercise. How much water should be enough? Maybe thats what im missing out. I realized im not drinking much water.

No matter what you eat, if you're not gonna hit the gym, you're not going to lose considerable amount of weight. You have to exercise while being in a diet. When I say "in a diet", I didn't mean cutting off food intake. I mean eating right and below your calorie intake needs. Visit this site --- http://www.caloriecount.com
This is a great site for you to keep track of your weight and your diet.

Try to seek a doctor. An endocrinologist maybe, so he can check your thyroid. Our thyroid has a big contribution to our digestive system and it is also called the master gland of metabolism. I think we're of the same case when it comes to dieting. I also tried lots of diet but none of them seemed to work only to find out I'm hypothyroid. It is a case wherein your thyroid glands produces little amount of thyroid hormones causing your metabolism to slow down. On the contrary, if it produces high amount, the metabolism will become fast, resulting to weight loss no matter how many foods you eat.
Good luck!

Okay, you should monitor your weight from start to finish of your diet so you would know how many were lost or gained. I tried lots of diet plans but none seemed to work really. It's because of this hypothyroid thing. So depressing sometimes. You know, in 5 years, I gained 16 kilos. That's too fast! I tried losing it by 2-4 kilos but it gained back. So know, I stopped having serious diet. Though I only eat veggies at night for some time, I still don't lose weight.

yes walking would be great way to get into working out start out taking nice easy walks at least 3-4 times a week maybe start with 30mins a day then every week speed up your walk and take longer walks. with in about month start with a slow jog just build it up to what your body can do, but just keep with it summer is on the way so nice long walks are great to get in shape!

Meditation not only relaxes the mind but also your body, by freeing the mind from everything that exist and only noticed when we breathe the air when inhaling and off, if you already familiar then you will feel the comfort and happiness within yourself and also effect the body you get better. Please try and see for yourself.

I read somewhere that is what you are used to. For instance, if you are used to eating a lot of veggies, fruits, and salads, it would be harder to lose as your body can tolerate it whereas someone who eats a lot of junk food and then goes on veggies and a healthy lifestyle is likely to lose. Exercise does help, even walking but I have a feeling you have to walk or run fast for at least an hour or a mile every day to make any headway. Maybe if you switch your food around, not eat the same thing for breakfasts, erc. For instance, have eggs instead of cereal one day a week. Oh I did learn that eating proteins like eggs, and milk plus whole grain at the breakfast, makes you feel less hungry.

Sounds like you have an idea of what kind of foods you should be eating but that exercise thing is just as important if not moreso. I never lost weight skipping meals, it was always eliminating most of my carbs and 1-3 hours of exercise a day to see results. Sadly I fell off the wagon and can't afford a gym to get the atmosphere I need to keep me focused to do this.

Me too. That's what is happening to me. I keep on falling off the wagon so I skip meals to compensate. But now i know its just the wrong idea. I needed to rewrite my plan. I had a couple of pointers Ive gathered here in the responses. Ill do some of those. Thanks

I know you are struggling right now and I also experienced that before but don't lose hope.Heavy exercise is not really needed to lose weight,30 minutes walking or 15 minutes.Try to get the goal to sleep 8 hours above everyday as according to the new studies, people who sleep less than 8 hours is prone to obesity and that's one factory no matter how we eat less and the sleeping pattern is not balance then it will be difficult. Also water is really important. You need to drink 8 glass of water a day.If you can buy a cranberry juice, try it and don't think about diet so much as it will stress you a lot.If possible, buy a mirror and put it in your room where you can see you're whole body,I don't know however this will make you conscious and will less your food intake.Don't skip meals,it's not really clever idea,it will make your fats scared and they will hold on inside which will not be release. At least eat every hour or every 3 hours just small intakes.Always bring water.last two months ago,I weight 72 kilos, now I am 62 kilos.Just trust in yourself.Don't stress.

I like walking exercise. Not much stress specially when just starting exercise. Ill take your suggestion. And also with the every 3hrs small intakes. I think that would work for me. And the sleep to, I sleep only around 4-6hrs a night. Maybe thats what contributed to the weight gain.

I know just how you feel. I have been yo-yo dieting for many years and the weight stayed or came back with a few extra pounds added. I have since learned that more protein was needed in my diet instead of fruits and vegetables that could contain one of our diets' success enemy, carbohydrates. Even though fruits and vegetables are good for us, we have to know that there or certain ones to stay away from while we are dieting, especially the first couple of weeks. After reverse my food choices, more protein less carbs, I have been more successful at weight loss. I hope this helps a little.
Good luck

My friend, count on the fact that human metabolism changes from time to time. You might have been able to loose weight before but not now. I suggest the advice and piece of mind of a dietician or family physician to look into your concern. Sorry for not being a help to you. =(

All depends of what vegetables and fruits you eat. Some vegetables have too much starch (potato), some fruits have too much calories (banana) and sugar. Also important the way you cook meal and your life style, if your are more active or passive. What kind of proteins you take?
The older you will become, the more difficult it will be lose weight, specially if you will keep the same eating habits. There are too many factors which affect your weight and possibility to loose it. So i suggest you to find really good nutritionist at first to find out what exactly doesn't allow you to loose weight now

I have read an article before that when you eat you should chew your food properly and eat slowly in that way your food intake will easily be digested.

I have heard that skipping breakfast and being short of sleeping will make you gain weight. Besides, I don't think that you have to eat less so that you can lose weight. The proper diet is much more important. Besides, I think doing some exercise is essential if you want to lose some weight. It will make you healthier.

It's just a matter of disciplining yourself. If your method doesn't work, you should try something new. It really takes sometime but after seeing the result, it's all worth your effort. Exercise really will help a lot along with your diet. It worked for me. =)

exercises are the main ingredients of making a diet recipe... i may say that even you eat a lot just continue an effective routine habit then you'll loss weight.... you need to exercise every morning to make it more effective, drink a glass of water 20-30minutes before meal, drink hot tea or even water every morning or eat citrus fruit everymorning when doing exercise, you should choose of a routine exercise of what you want to put in a good shape, for example, i'm into flatten my stomach so i do sit ups more...

Good, you even think f exercising. That is the only way to loose weight. None of these diets do miracles. Use the energy stored by the body at all times. Even if it not exercising as such, just tackling heavy jobs will help burn the energy the body store easily.
