It's about three months since I returned to my hometown ,which is just a small and ordinary in our country.I thought there will be fewer cars in small cities than in large cities ,and the traffic situation must be much better. But now I find it not true at all .The traffic is quite crowded ,though the number of cars is not so large as big cities .This morning ,it took me more than half an hour to go to my office, which was only five bus stops away.
So I think the best way to go to work or go to school is to ride a bike.
Guys, how is the traffic situation in your city?Which way do you choose to go to your office ?

The traffic situation in my area is a little unique. I live in a small town, that is completely surrounded by a huge city which is part of an even bigger major metropolitan area. The traffic in my town has never been a problem, however seeing as my town only consists of 3 schools, 3 banks and a police/fire department, everyone works out of town where the traffic is almost always horrendous. I like many others wake up every morning and drive (or bike is i'm energetic enough) to the edge of town where the closest bus stop is and then take the bus to work. Getting to the bus stop can take less than 5 minutes no matter where you live in town however once i'm on the bus and driving through the city it can take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to get to my office. Whenever i'm driving in the city with my parents the ALWAYS comment on how bad traffic has gotten over the past 20 years.

well, I now live in a northen city, which is big. so u can guess how many people there are as well as cars. so every day when I go to work is like a fight, crowded people and crowed cars. I usually take a bus to office.

I think the public traffic is becoming better and better in my city. There are many kinds of public transportation here. Especially today there are more subway lines built here. Everyday I go to work on foot and it takes me about half an hour. It is not tiring. And I regard it as my daily exercise. I like to take advantage of the time and I will listen to Ebooks on the way:)

Hi, in my town, which isn't that big either, traffic is also a bid crowed. During the day everything is fine, but one's school is out and during the peek houres (in the morning about 8 to 9 and in the evening around 4 to 6 it's really bad. I go to work by car, but only because it's nessasary for me, Bacause I work at about an hour driving from my home and I'm independent, so i need my car during the work aswell. If I wouldn't need my car to work I would gladly use public transport, but in my case that is just impossible.

Our city jams at Peak hours and we try not to go to those areas where jams are most likely. Sometimes the jams happened for no reason at all. But when it rains everyone will slow down. One time they try to implement Car Pool and it was a failure.

Well in the places i frequently go like work and such, the traffic is really bad. I have to allot 1 hour for travelling time because the traffic is so bad. But its because its in a place where traffic from all places converge so I really have no choice.
But other than that, malls or stores that i frequently go is not that congested with traffic even in rush hour.

This is same thing with my hometown.
Before,we are not having trouble with traffic and can roam around the city without hassles.
But now,it's more crowded compared here in bigger metro cities.
So,whenever i visited my hometown, and we want to go to parks and tourist places,i don't like bringing my own car.
I prefer to have a long walks to the parks and just ride on cab returning home.

My hometown is also a small city and I find this to be true. The roads there are a bit tight compared to the city roads therefore rendering so little space for the vehicles to run on. Just this last weekend I was driving to church with my girlfriend and it took us 15 minutes to get there when it should have only been a 5 minute ride. I find this to be a hassle sometimes, not to mention irritating.

Our local government recently just implemented a traffic scheme in our place so the traffic here just adds 5 mins. to my trip time via jeepney from home to school. Before the traffic scheme was implemented, it would take 40 mins. all in all to go to school which is 2x longer than if there's no traffic. My trip to school would pass from hills so it's a more up and down trip so biking would be tiring and sweatsome for me.

I am so thankful, there's no traffic here in our city. I get to choose the jeepney where i will ride and i don't have to rush in getting one. Then, i will ride a tricycle to get me to my place of work which is in a mall by the sea.
I have just one complain though, sometimes some drivers would ask me for more fare! I tell them , what are you, a taxi?! Then they will leave pouting.
They can't make me pay in excess, lest i report them !

people who live in my city prefer to use motorcycle to go to a place, including me. motorcycle is the most effective and efficient transportation. beside the price is cheap, to go to the office, spend a little gasoline. but when the rainy season, the city became crowded because there is a lot of stagnant water in the road. local governments lack of attention to that problem. i also use motorcycle to pick up my wife. it so romantic
