Teaching djembe drum to a 5 year old - HELP

I need some help - starting djembe lessons with a 5 year old boy who`s very busy-body and can`t focus for too long. Can anyone tell me how to grab and keep his attention?
It`s kind of difficult, because he can`t read yet, but want`s to learn. Any input regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated ;)
