My cousin who was twelve years old came to see me this evening .As he arrived ,he said he was so thirsty.I offered him just some water, but he refused .He said he always drink cola because the taste was sweet .I thought it not a good idea to drink too much such drink which contais too much sugar and caffeine. These materials might be not good to children's health. Therefore ,I advised him not to drink cola too much .He said ,drinking cola was cool.
So guys ,what do your childen drink when they are thirsty? Thanks!

My daughter drinks a lot of milk. Milk is her favorite thing to drink. Every now and then she gets a treat of chocolate milk, but I give her a low fat 1% milk because I don't want her consuming to much fatty products, since she drinks a lot of milk as it is. During the summer she will drink juice boxes and occasionally water. I have tried to get her to drink more water, but without success. I think that this summer I am goin to try a low/no calorie vitamin water or flavored water to try and coax her to drink more water. When I was a child we only had pop on special occasions, so now I am the same way with my daughter. The age she is now though (3) she very seldom gets pop.

Well I have to say so far I am blessed. I have two children who are 7 and 8 years old so they are still young enough for me to control what they drink when at home. Typically when they get thristy it's water as its easy for them to get by themselves. They also will drink milk and juice from time to time. As for cola, the only kind I allow them to drink and it's every once in a blue moon on special occasions or when we go out to eat is Sprite or Rootbeer as it has no caffeine. But like I said it's very rare that they get that.

I don't let my kids drink cola or soda that much.
I don't even buy cola or soda drinks.
When we are going out and have dine with food chains, since cola is already with the meal...no choice for that...then,i still asks my kids to drink water after drinking cola.
Cola is not good for the kids, and very bad for our health.

In my family, we are not encouraged to drink soft drink. My parents know this kind of drink is not good for health. Thats why, all our children are not allowed to drink soft drink too frequent. And they are very good also where they will only drink plain water when they are thirsty.

I have to admit, that I myself am a caffeine junkie - coffee, soda, energy shots. However, I am an adult. My daughter only gets about 3 oz. of soda a week, drinks some milk and water, but her absolute must-have is Sunny Delight Strawberry Orange. It isn't the healthiest drink but definitely a huge improvement over soda. Maybe you should remind your cousin that too much soda can lead to painful kidney stones and urinary tract infections and that we need water to flush our bodies of impurities to keep us healthy.

My son would always go to the refrigerator and get one of two things, water or milk. He is accustomed into drinking either one of them because I always remind him those are the drinks that he should be drinking at all times. He does not drink any soda beverages because I want him to have good habits in terms of drinking. Kids will get older and will have the chance to taste all the sodas in the world. But right now he should be drinking water and milk for their own good.
