The eighth of April is looming as the deadline before the government runs out of money. Do you think there will be a shutdown of the federal government? Share your thoughts.

.....Hi bob, this is one time that I do agree with you so mark it down."o) I
don't know that it will come to a full shutdown but the Democrats had a whole stupid year to get this done, and it is a pitiful show of leadership and everything else that the bunch of them could not get this completed. The other thing is the fiscal year ends this September, so the numbers cannot be squeezed out of six months of spending. What is the problem with the entire crowd? Just settle on a number, and start the work on the 2012 budget for whatever else you want or think you want. Thanks for your response. Cheers.

From what I have heard and red the Democrats are willing to set an amount to cut but have not said where the cuts will come from. The Republicans have sent a bill to the Senate but they will not vote on it or change it and send it back to the House. From my point of view it is the Democrats who are holding up the process. The President did nothing until the last minute and his meeting was not successful.

....The Republicans as I understand it, first I can't speak to what you just said as I have not heard anything about that. But I did hear that the Republicans are drafting another continuing resolution for a short term stop-gap measure. This should be the last one and it should be passed unless they are all out of their minds or just like to play stupid games. We'll see what happens. The GOP members agreed to a number in the beginning, then the Tea Party pushed and they came back with a larger number. Again the fiscal year ends in September, the days are getting less and less. Cheers.
