Is facebook becoming another limb in peoples lives?

I agree, but I doubt anyone was desperately trying to upload photos and videos during the earthquake. I'm sure people directly involved were sending pictures to their friends to let them know how severe it was and to warn them. Their friends may have then posted the pictures to Facebook. I think this helped in a way, showing people the severity of the event and encouraging help to arrive.

Hi. estine71. Welcome to myLot! I would not be surprised that this has happened! Whenever something happens in the world, their are people that are filming this footage. Instead of them helping out or running, they are sitting there videotaping the entire segment of what they are seeing. If I see an earthquake that is striking, I would not be posting or videotaping anything on Facebook or Youtube. I would be more worried about trying to save myself and others too. I have seen many documentaries about people watching a tornado as it is in the mist. I could not do something like this at all. I would be trying to get away before this storm hits me.
