Graphic Novels

For those that don't know, graphic novels are basically comic books for adults. I have been toying with the idea of turning my unpublished novels into graphic novels, but I really have very little knowledge in this area. I was wondering if any posters here on Mylot have experience with graphic novel production/publishing, or if they have written a graphic novel? Any information would be useful.
