Missing Baguio

My husband and I just had our first Panagbenga (Flower Festival) in Baguio City last February. It was also our first trip to Baguio as a couple. We enjoyed the sights, the parade, the food (yummy! not to mentioned fresh vegetables) and the weather (really cold). Its a pity we can't extend our trip for the "Session in Bloom" where the entire Session Road is closed to traffic and the entire street is filled with merchandizes, great food and bargains (maybe, i'm not sure). The City of Pines is so refreshing for us who are so stressed with the monotony of daily life. Well I guess any vacation or trip can do that, but Baguio just got its own charm. My husband even want to live in Baguio. We hope to return with the kids, maybe after 2 years (our youngest is just 7 mos old). I'm sure they'll enjoy Baguio much more than we had.

Baguio is the prime destination in the country. The strawberry is so yummy I could eat tons in one sitting. The weather in Baguio is always right, conducive to sightseeing and shopping for souvenirs. My favorite is the Igorot hiding his naked body in a drum, and when you remove the drum, there it is, long and ... hmmm, I am risking my ... never mind... that is my favorite.

I can tell that you've really got smitten by Baguio as I recall posting in another of your discussions about your vacation there. These are the times that I feel proud of our city. Well, our house in not IN Baguio, but in the neighboring town, La Trinidad - hello, strawberries! But, most of my awake moments were spent in Baguio - been born there, studied there, worked there, went to church there, so really I could consider it my city as well. If you're really interested, I have some realtor friends we could ask help. I'll be going up this weekend, and I'm already looking forward to the cool breeze!

So that's the reason why this discussion is like a de javu? I was thinking I already responded to this discussion when I noticed that I didn't have any response and it was posted at a different interest. Why was I not surprise I'll be seeing you here again Glorya?

Hello, Baguio girl here. It's nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay. But for me Panagbenga is not a good time cause the traffic is quite unpleasant. Another thing is we have a lot of visitors at home . When I was working in Manila, I always want to go home here cause of the weather, now there are times that I want to move out of the city specially during the cold months cause I'm suffering from sinusitis and asthma. Anyway, see you in 2 years time maybe, if and when you plan to come back.
