o.o I know we all got petnames/nicknames (Snookums, babe, baby, shawty, hun, hunny, honey, sexy, gorgeous, beautiful, hottie, darling, sweety, etc.) for our special someones... But how do you feel when they say your name? :3 For most, they feel like they're in trouble or something especialy for example if they don't say, "Pookiiieeeee can you please take out the trash?" Instead, "TOM! Would you please take out the trash?" o.o yeah... But it varies on the situation... xD For me, when my special someone calls me by my name... I feel really fuzzy inside like euphoric, glad, happy, soooooooooooooooooo in looooveee! D: Then I feel like hiding my head somewhere or putting my head down all smiles. :3 I wanna know how do YOU feel when your special someone says your name?

Its the other way around for me. My guy and I have been together for 6 years, we really do not call each other with our given names except if we are going to introduce each other to our peers. The other time we call each other with given names is when we have cooled off and try to give each other space. so it's not a good for me to hear him calling me with my name. i would think that something was off.

My boyfriend calls me Doll. It is such a special thing he does, I think. He has been calling me Doll for the last six years. I am not use to him calling me by my name. If he does it takes me off guard. lol Most people who know me do not call me by my full last name they usually shorten it, has been this way for years.

Doll? :3 My high school aquaintence/kinda friend calls me Doll coz I kinda look like one. o.o Like the really pretty dolls I'm like an asian barbie with kinda jessica alba lips. xD o.o What would happen if someone calls you by your full last name...?

My boyfriend is an actor so it is quite common for them to call someone they love Doll! If people call me by either my first or last name I am okay with that. It is common for anyone who knows me to call me either one.

Yea. usually my that special someone would not call me by my name. When he calls me by Name, i know i have done something really wrong and that he is really angry with me. However, there is this unexplainable feeling that i have whenever i hear my name from him! A feeling of happiness and that i am still the person he knew at the beginning

Hahaha! Yep yep! ^^ I feel like that when "Smiley" calls me by my first name. ._. I'm so happy I feel like I'm gunna die on the spot happy and cuddle him and be glad I have him happy. xD The 'person' my special someone knew in the beginning hid under a lot also had an alias a whole different persona. Some how he just could see past the persona and insisted on loving the actual me just the way I am. Since he's in love with the actual me not someone I'm trying to take on to be. o.o Kinda complicated but it's kinda a long story. But when he says my given name even just thinking about it just kinda makes me a little teary eyed just because hope found me when I had lost hope. He's given me all the time in the world to come around till I was comfortable with things, a year or so later I got tired with the alias I had been living with and stuck to my usual name and the cute nicknames he's given me. ^^ It's euphoric. :)

For me it's the other way around. I am used to being called by endearment by my husband. So, whenever he calls me by my full name, i know that there's some tinge of irritation or anger in it. So, i would ask what's the matter and he would tell me.

xD By the means of tinge of irritation or anger in it, would it be like the cliche things in tv shows where the spouse calls the person in trouble by their full long name?

Yes, just like those on TV shows, that when the spouse calls the other by their full name , it means he/she is already annoyed.

Hi Guru.. I have lots of special someone like my mother and father, relatives and my boyfriend. They all call me differently. When my boyfriend calls me by my name (full name), I get irritated for I want to be called by my nickname. But one thing is for sure, when my mother called me by full name, SHE is MAD.

Yup, they called me on my nickname.. Even my Korean boss... It's more comfortable for me. Some strangers call me with my full name though, it's okay because they don't know me yet.

Oh, I only my love calls me by the petname he gave me. When he first started calling me that I don't like it but I didn't tell him. Its because I'm not used to having petnames. In the family we are first name basis. In college, I'm used to being called by my last name. So when he started calling me with such names, I have to smile secretly ... first I feel so good, then weird then happy because the way he says it is very romantic. Whenever he has done something I don't like, and because I am a brat, I just call him with his first name. So far he has called me by my first name during introductions and when I got almost lost in one of our travels. &(*._.^)&

xD Sounds like fun experiences. I was not use to be called petnames either because nobody has really called me those. ._. I tend to get creative with mine, for the first few weeks I called him "sugar" but that was me trying to be someone else so I got creative and called him Smiley since he smiled a lot around me. o.o Guys don't smile a lot around me. Unless I was trying to be funny or whatnot, but Smiley seems to be happy with being called, Mr Smiley guy, smiley, smiley awesome, baby, sexy, gorgeous, beautiful, prettyful, Nyno (it's like saying Dinosaur but with an "N" hence nino but spelled with a Ny he's 2 years older than me and he keeps going on about how old he is so I try to be cute with it), Prince Charming, but sometimes I would use his actual name but not all the time.

How would I feel if my husband actually called me by my first name? Confused. We don't use each other's first names unless we are talking to someone else about our other half. I don't remember the last time my husband actually turned to me and said, "Rosie!" (Although he does still use my name in love letters sometimes.) We have a variety of pet names. Mine for him are usually generic...sweetie, sweetie pie, cutie pie, cutie tush (don't ask), Huns Buns Part Two, although the one I use most often is simply Honey Buns. His pet names for me vary more...Huns Buns Part One, gorgeous pie, sexy buns, honey buns, sweetie, sexy tush, huns buns, and Mrs. Awesome. It's become so normal for us to use these ridiculously bad names that we don't think twice...so I can't tell you how many times my husband's been looking for me in the grocery store and calls, "HONEY BUNS!" across several aisles. We've gotten plenty of stares and laughs for that! I do stop and think about it sometimes...and I'm grateful that my husband is man enough to use pet names for me, even in front of people, without being embarrassed that the whole world now knows he calls me Honey Buns. Using pet names almost makes us feel like we're in on a secret together, almost like we share a humor together that no one else understands. It's definitely a couple connector, to say the least!

xD I'm glad my fiancee does not call me Rosie. :P Though that's like half my name Rosemarie ahahaaha! ._. Looooong story. But if he calls me rose or rosie I get mad because that's my mom's name. xD Mrs. Awesome? No way! xD I call my Smiley Mr. Awesome or Mr. McAwesomeness. I call him Mr. Smiley-Prince Charming. o.o Lotsa names... But he'd call me Mi Corazon, my love, love, hun - that kinda stuff. xD ^^ It's good to see a more men man enough with the pet names, yeah it is kinda like you have your own language. :)

I like it when my husband calls me hunny! He usually just say my nick name casually but there are times when he needs something and that's the time he calls me hunny or even text the word hunny.

"Hunny, can you get the grocerieeees?" :3 Hahaha! Yeah, I could see that happening in tv shows with the cliche husband and wife thing. :P It works. But least they're being nice about it since they're asking you a favor. ^^

Growing up, if a family member were to call me by my first real name that was a sign that I'm more than likely in trouble. I think thats a way of traumatizing a kid, btw lol. Now, that i'm older, it does feel good to be called by your first name. For instance, I was in class once. It was early in the semester. I didn't think my teacher knew me by name, but he once said "lakeshia, do you wan't to participate" or something like that. I turned around, you know how a dogs ears stand up when they hear something? lol, thats how I felt, it was really joyous, because it felt like the paid special attention to me :)

^^ It's good to feel joyous! Hahaha! I know that feeling as a kid when people call my given name. Oi... It's one of those feelings you get tired of that can bug you and you know something's up sorta thing. But it does feel good for people to call me by my first name for once especially if it's not common. :) It's what makes us unique. :3

family, friends and special someone doesn't call me in my real name, it's kinda long and hard to pronounce so when they do call me in my real name i was bothered and i think there's something wrong. i hate being called by my name so they only do it when they were angry at me

My first name is long... I was so proud of it in Kindergarten and Grade 1... o.o After that I didn't really like it and cut it down to two letters like Ro. :) But after that I flipped and flopped with other names that has no relation to my original name of what so ever. xD So there's a name for my online persona, and just hanging with friends (Ro), and being around that special someone. Fun stuff, thanks for the reply. ^^

How long have you been together? I think now, after having been together so long, nothing good ever comes of my husband calling my name! He always wants something, or he wants me to do something. I wish he would just call to me to get a cuddle or something, but that's never the case. And I dare say he feels the same way because every time I call out to him, he knows it's not going to be fun lol. =)

We've been together long enough for me to call me his fiancee... o.o He calls me mi corazon, hun, my love, love, sexy, beautiful, wife, wifey, hubby (ahahaha! Yeh, some moments where I take control - in a good way). When he calls me by my first name I just want to hide because all my life I never really expected someone calling me by my first name next to theirs since nobody wanted/needed/loved me before like he does. So I accept it from time to time though I kinda hate it with a firey passion but when he says it it feels like all my troubles has gone down the drain, depending on the situation though. ._. It's like an auto reflex to nestle in his chest like a kitten. :3
