Many people envy those who are seemingly lucky all the times. They wish that they have more good luck than bad luck. Some of them go to the extreme of using different methods to improve luck, such as moving into a lucky house, get a pendant, seek the help of fortune tellers, or other methods. Do you think there are ways to improve luck? What do people in your country do to improve luck?

Hi scheng1, there are saying that different people have their respective lucky colors. Only picking the right colors in stuffs using in daily life would bring or improve the luck of them. Yeah, we can read this from various books of horoscope. Some of the people here who believe in fengshui would try to improve their luck by rebuilding or renovating their houses according to the saying of the geomacer. Certain people would put on their lucky color clothes, decorate their room, etc according to their chinese zodiac respectively. Some of the people here would visit to an adjacent country to bless and to pray for good fortune. The famous Erawan Shrine, four faces god. Each face represent the fortune of health, career as well as marriage and weath . Other than praying to god doing good deed often would help to improve our luck I suppose, for we always feel happy after helping people Happy posting

For a those who have been undergoing bad luck often for quite some time, I think doing something that they believe would change their luck like having house renovation, wearing amulets and so on, at least this would bring hope to them to move further. It's better than to blame this and that and live hopelessly. This seems like an encouragement and impetus to push them to work for their future with great hope

Hi Ikbooi, exact thoughts on that. Even if they are not having bad luck, doing something in the belief that it will bring good luck is still very comforting. So many people go to the temples to pray for protection before going for a holiday or boarding the plane. While they have faith in technology, and the skills of the crew, they are not taking any chance. Students facing major examinations pray for good luck, and carry all sort of amulets into the examination hall too. My colleague has a little fish tank in her workstation. I guess it is her way of improving feng shui for her career. Most people will not think of keeping such a small fish tank in the workstation with a few guppies swimming around.

Hi lkbooi, added to all the renovations, and prayers, many people also wear special amulets to ward off evils. I think many people honestly do not know whether it works or not, but they are not willing to play with their lives. Better to have all these protective charms, than to face with a near fatal accident, and be a handicap for life. Even if they were to spend several thousand dollars renovating their house, they will enjoy the rate of the return in the sense of a more peaceful family, obedient children, and better paid job.

I don't believe in ways of improving your luck. I think the best thing to do is to avoid thinking of bad moments and concentrate only at good things which happened in your life.

Hi 9anemas, that is a very good way of looking at life. It is true that negative thinking can make us miserable, even though we have everything in life to make us happy. It is sad to see many able-bodied person so negative, and those handicapped persons are so positive about life. I think we really have to do our best to find happiness in whatever circumstance, even when we feel we are the most unluckiest creatures on earth.

I don't believe in luck. I think we make our own luck when we take the time to think things through and look at the possible consequences of our actions. By thinking in a positive manner, hoping for the best while preparing for the worst, we can make plans and see a good outcome.

Hi Dragon54u, when unfortunate events happen, some of us take it positively, and some negatively. It is only years later then we can really judge. Some rich people become rich because they cannot get a job. They either cannot get a job at all, or they get fired from every job. In the end, they have to start their own businesses in order to survive. On hindsight, getting fired from the job is the luckiest thing to happen.

Luck? No one can truly define the word 'luck'. If one becomes successful out of the way by any means we tend to attribute the success to 'luck'. If the so called 'luck' can be manipulated by various methods suggested by different type of preachers, all those who approached the preachers should become successful. Why only handful? This should answer your question. In my country, India, generally people propitiate the deity and seek his blessing. This only helps them maintain their faith. No concrete evidence to show the deities bestowed the wishes sought by the devotee. That is the fate of 'luck'.

Hi Hanuma, those preachers will have an answer for everyone, that's why so many people keep going to them. When those people have bad things happen to them, the preachers will say either they offend gods, or karma. If bad things continue, those preachers will say that they need to bear with it, because that is karma, being punishment for something bad that they have done in the past. If bad things stop, and they become lucky, the preachers will ask them to continue seeking blessing.

Hi Sajeevking, those who manage to get rich by promising their gods do not usually get to keep their wealth. Most of them become proud and forget their promises to their gods. In the end, they suffer a lot, and lose their money as a punishment. I think it is bad to make a promise, and then forget all about it. Many Chinese in my country do that too. They seem to like bargaining with their gods.

I just know some people have something attached to their bags or parts of their bodies, which they get from temples, to prevent themselves from traffic accident or other bad luck. Also some parents will go to temples when their children getting an important examination. I not sure it is useful to go totemples to improve luck.

Hi FQMeng, that is a very common way to prevent bad things from happening. I think most people do not really believe in those things from the temples, but they prefer to play safe, than to risk their lives. If they forget to carry those items, and something really bad happen, then they will suffer for life. As for improving good luck, I really doubt it. If everyone can just carry items to prevent bad luck, and gain good luck, then everyone will be very lucky.

Hi Thereza, I think the reverse is true, if you are a god-fearing person. The Bible and many other religious texts talk about devil or wicked spirits and people causing problems for those who are good. In this case, good people are very unlucky. They can only treat it as a test of their integrity, and faith.
