In India, Summer has started and its really hot. I always prefer a warm bath as I easily get cold in cold water bath. But the summer is terribly hot and sweats much. But my brother still takes warm and hot bath. Says he is used to it at any extremes. So would you take cold bath to beat the summer heat.

It's also summer here in the Philippines but I used to wake up very early in the morning and it's still cold here in my place so I take a warm bath. But I take a cold shower before going to sleep to make me refreshed.

Hi besthope, I always like to take a cold bath. Even in the winters. I mostly take cold bath, i am used to it now. lol. I have bathed with very cold water and surprisingly i don't seem to catch cold at all. It's the hardest at the beginning but once you pour it over yourself you jump and it settles with that. The body tries to do something to keep warm when we are bathing with cold water, however it's isn't advisable to bath with cold water for long.

Hello again :) You can say that it is a small gift, yes. I have got wet in the rain, and it feels so awkward in drenched clothes, but i don't catch cold unless i am crossing my limits, like bathing for long in cold water or staying in wet clothes for hours. Now that brings me with another problem, i hate bathing in hot water. I have to compromise for the winters sometimes.

Hi Voldrox, Wow you seems to have a good resistive power. I would rather say gifted person you are. Even I wish somtimes to drench in cold water or rain in winter, but you know what I catch cold and would be drinking hot water for my sickness. So lucky you are. You brought that chill moments, even i do that. First time, cold water makes us jump that would be really funny..

Hello Besthope44! Here at Leon, Mexico, is really hot by now, indeed. But I take both, yesterday morning I prefered a cold bath... and on Sunday evening I took a very hot hot bath. Let me explain why. I am the kind of woman that speeds up her life as a car. If I don´t get a really hot hot bath on sunday, I can´t sleep well. So I need to get a hot bath to get relaxed. Otherwise I can be awake until 1 or 2 am. And I love to take a fresh bath in the morning to beat the hot weather... =) Don´t you take a hot bath to get relaxed and sleep fine? Blessings!... Dainy

Wow! Besthope, I am glad to read that you love Mexican food. Tacos, enchiladas, rice, beans, with hot sauce, lettuce and cream, isn´t it? lol... Besthope, this winter was really cold... could you believe I wore boots, leather jacket, knitted hat, and scarf for 4 months. Here our home (yours too) is really cold. I live at Leon, Guanajuato, since 8 years ago. It has a "desertic climate". First we moved into a small house, kids were very small. But the house was really hot, maybe as your app, because all day long the sun rinsed it in the morning by the kitchen and in the evening by the living and bedrooms... uff, I cut my hair very small, indeed.=( I couldn´t wear pants, just skirts. Then we moved to this house 3 years ago, and is very fresh, but in winter it is chilly, but I prefer it, because I can wore more clothes without problem. I was born and used to live at Mexico, DF, and it was template weather. But my parent´s house was chilly too. So my body is used to cold weather rather than hot weather. This year we had a weird winter, because it snowed up to 1.5 meter, in places as Chihuahua. It´s the world´s climatic change =( Oh! I know what it would be to take a hot bath and sleep in a hot bedroom!! People says that the hot "araises"... isn´t it? I wish you could sleep better though. Blessings!... Dainy

Hi Dainy, Happy to meet a Mexican friend here, I really love the Tacos, especially the Carne Asada Tacos., it keeps watering my mouth. I was learning at home for preparing it myself. I heard that winter is terrible there.. My sister was there in Mexico for two years and she would scream on phone out of extreme cold. I use to make fun of her to wear 10 dresses so she can resist the cold. Its interesting to know how you prepare yourself at summer and winter. True when we get adapted to a particular weather, then its easy to bear to some extreme. Yep, due to the global warming and adverse climatic changes, winter in US and Mexico are making the history of heaviest snow all over. I really enjoyed the experience you shared with me.

Hi dainy, I love Mexican foods. Nice to hear you take both showers to balance yourself. Thats a good idea of beating the heat and taking a good sleep. Even I get problems of waking up late night as I could not sleep. One problem here is, we are at top floor and rooms are really hot even with A/C on all time even night. So I dont prefer hot bath at night, rather I would set Air conditioner to blow cool breeze. That way I can find my sleep. So you speed up life as a car, you are very active person thats nice to hear about you. How about winter in Mexico?

No, I wouldn't take a cold bath even if the weather becomes very hot. It's still not that hot in Bulgaria but in the summer the temperatures jump up to 40 degrees Centigrade and it's really hot then. But even under these extreme temperatures I always prefer warm showers or at least switch from warm to cool water two or three times and always finish with the warm one. Showering with cold water is dangerous even in very hot days.

Hi iva75cpb, Nice that you have not started up with summer. I heard Bulgaria is a nice place. But I feel its same as India, here temperature lifts up 40,45 so quickly. oh is it dangerous to have cold shower? I read some people say dont take a cold bath in hot days, but what are the effects? Can you share it.

OMG! I never knew this. I still know many of my friends are taking cold shower at any cost of climate. Thanks for this valuable information. I would recommend them to rotate their habit, so they dont get into problems. Thanks iva!

The most important danger to have in mind when you decide to have a cold shower is that the cold water can have negative effects on the women's reproductive organs. Even the tiniest cold can cause severe damages to these organs. Not to mention that if one has a lower immunity the cold water can cause meningitis. The best way to relax and cool in a hot day is to rotate hot and cold water under the shower but complete shower only with cold water? No.

Any bath would do, haha. As long as it removes all the sweaty odors from my body. Whether it's warm or cold, in my opinion, it's usually quite refreshing regardless of the temperatures!

Actually I will have a warm bath all year long:) Even if it is hot here, but I still prefer to have a warm bath. This is already my habit. I am afraid of the coldness:) Except for going to have a swimming in summer, I can't stand the cold water. I love China

Hi youless, So you are from China and nice to see you love your country. Most of us all same. Even my parents criticize that I take warm water in summer, but now things got changed. At my school days, I use to take hot water only even in summer and in turn i sweat lot even when fans are on.. that was funny. Nice to see you having same thoughts of mine.

I still like to take a medium warm bath in the summer, I don't like cold shower at all. I only like cold water when I get very very hot when being toasting on the beach, then I would like to jump into the cold water.

I have bath with luke warm water or cold water when it is hot. I too am susceptible to cold. So I have bath with warm water only in colder seasons. As the days get hotter and hotter a cold water shower is ideal to keep the body cool.

Hi hanuma34, Thats really cool. So you follow same way as I do. For some of us, cant preferably take cold water all time we need. But at extreme hot season, cold shower is likely to help beat the weather.

I only bathe with warm water when the water is icy cold. Other than that, i would like to bathe in a room temperature water when the weather is hot. As much as possible i don't like warm bath, because it dries my skin. That i notice every time i do it during these past cold months. So this summer, no more warm water in bathing!

Hi Simplyd, Sometimes even I felt the same, warm bath dries off the skin and i get some rough feeling on there. Good decision, whether its hot or cold what our body adapts is more important. Enjoy your summer!

Hi. besthope44. Yes, I will. I will take a hot shower too if I feel like it. I like my baths warm and hot at the same time. It will just take me a longer time to cool off after I wash up though. I may get cooler after thirty minutes of cooling off after I get out of the bath or the shower. I have rinsed off in cold water when it was very hot before. It is very refreshing, but I tend to get so chilly while standing in the shower.

Hi cream97, Nice to hear you prefer warm hot bath. Even I do it sometimes by getting rinsed with cold water. Thats gives a different feeling to the body. You said it right, after trying cold shower i find it so chill. May be because i have just started to take cold showers.

Hi HansonFan, So you enjoy your shower thats nice to hear. Even I feel a mixed bath really makes refreshing and that gives a kinda feeling of cooling which our body may feel better against the sweat and heat. Here temperature is getting up high , so I stopped even the warm bath now

We are not in summer yet here. But when it is summer it is so scorching that I take really cold showers. It gets so hot here that drying off after the shower one sweats a great deal. So although during the winters and spring times I always feel cold, during the summer I feel suffocated, so a warm shower will not do for me. Some people have told me that warm and hot baths/showers help. I find it quite the contrary for me.

Hi hardworkinggurl, I like your user name. So from your point, its not the climate. Its the body which is adaptable to each seasonal change. I heard even my friend abroad get suffocation during summer. I wouldn't prefer warm shower as well. A cold shower is keeping me cool.
