every time I go to work and along the way I can always hear friends chatting " have you add me on "FB?" have you seen my pictures on "FB?" Have You seen my wall on FB?" or even have you like my videos on "FB? haaaay.... its just like an everyday news paper tabloid for me. as of me using it. It only takes 10 mins. Just view some inbox and tags pics, add some new friend request and woahla... log out. I'd rather stay blogging here at mylot and its worth my time. =)

I share the same sentiments with you jepoy!
I really don't understand the rave about facebook. I guess I am becoming old?
I often hear updates from my co-workers about their status on facebook.
They even ask me if I have a facebook account, it seems I am the only one who isn't in their list of friends in facebook.
Like you I prefer Mylotting. I am having fun at the same time earning.
Which I think is much cooler!

well..i think facebook is one great way to interact to our relatives, friends, old friends and everyone whom we're been far away for quite sometimes or even just an hour or a minutes.
for me, i am an avid fan of FB. everymorning even before opening up my company email, i will check first any updates of my FB account..maybe someone commented on my picture, or the status i posted or maybe im going to upload some new pics for my family and friends to see.
unlike other interactive websites. FB offers chat box where messengers, mails and even photo albums are all in one.

I used to use Facebook, but found that it was a waste of my time. Friends and family used to message me via it but I would always return their messages via e-mail. The more people around me talked about FB and what they had done on it, the more I turned away from it. In the last year I have been on it twice and haven't missed it at all. My life has changed by not going on it, friends are still in contact with me, and my e-mail box is a lot less full since I have sent all FB mail over to spam.
Give me Mylot any day. Here I really enjoy my time and look forward to looging in, checking my messages and read and responding to the discussions.

yes, friends now a days use FB to send postcards from their holidays as they say by sending one to all it gets there quicker and is cheaper. Is this the future...Easter, Christmas cards, etc. Just sent via FB - one card/message to cover everyone. Yes, it is easier and cheaper but where is the personal touch, thought and care!

I facebook regularly coz its one of the promotional medium for my business. Social networking on facebook is strictly for business. I meet customers, and investors via facebook and twitter, i also get new business idea from my friends. So, for me its business.

I try not to go on facebook at all because I think its a complete waste of time. You could be working on something or spending some quality time with friends or family. The only time I would go on facebook is after a major event like a concert or something where there are a lot of pictures to browse through, some possibly containing myself.

I don't spend a lot of time on facebook as well, I just check some status of my friends and share some pretty/interesting pictures with others. Frankly, it's good to know the latest news from friends, but I may only spend a maximum of 20 minutes on facebook a day.

Hi jepoy11,
I totally agree with you. Facebook is a great way to stay updated on what's happening, and see pictures or get invitations to things, but it's not worth staying on for hours and hours. I think people really do get addicted to the constant influx of information.
A site like mylot also I think provokes more discussion, more intelligent thought. I find myself browsing the discussions for things I'm interested in, and people are looking for advice, help, or just want to talk about stuff . . . that's more interesting than just reading updates like someone went to the store today, right?!?!
FB is a great quick source of info, but I think you're on the right track with 10 mins a day or so.

Thank you doidgesidhuonline.... whew! that is one of the hardest user name I've ever read. hahaha! anyways we have seen the friendster, myspace, and even multiply site being stagnant and useless... It is also possible for FB to extinct. and mylot would takeover the crown. =)

I have to admit that i am one of those addicted to using facebook but for several valid reasons, well i think they are valid. One to continue seeing updates from friends and relatives who are far away. Knowing what they are doing and that they are safe through this site is easier than by calling or chatting. Second i am addicted with the games. Yes this is also one of the main reasons why i am always online 24-7 on the site.

Hi. jepoy11. Welcome to myLot! You feel the same way that I feel too. I only log onto Facebook when I have to read a message that someone sends me. Or if I plan to poke someone that has poked me. Or poke anyone that I feel like poking. I also may read my wall posts, if I have any. And I like to check my profile to see if I have any accepted friend request that I have been waiting on too.

I got tired of going online on Facebook as well. It is a past time of mine if I am resting but if not i would rather do other things nowadays. Unlike when I first learned about it, I was ecstatic. I felt I was the last person to know. I really did. But now I am putting a step backward and wanting to explore the world more and less of Facebook.

I may visit facebook a few times a day, just to check my message, post comments, or view updates from my FB friends. Even though I do this a few times a day, if that. I'm never on to long. To do all that I need to do take about 5 minutes or less. So, I'm a fan of facebook all in all, I don't think its a waste of time like other expressed. If you have family and friends its a good way to keep in touch with them, without having to see them if they are out of state or out of the country.

you know what, my mom is FB-ing almost from sunrise to sundown! She'll wake up at around 6am and will not cook for us or do chores but to open the PC and start FBing, until 10pm! That annoys me, but I can't do anything about it. She doesn't work, it's all up to me to keep the family up float.

I don't spend too much time on Facebook because it is a waste of time in my opinion to spend hours on this site,so I think 10-15 minutes a day are enough for me to check on my friends' statuses or share a link if something interesting cmes to my mind or confirm friend requests if there are any.I prefer spending much more time on mylot because it is the place where I can think, express myself, have a good time and earn money, which of course doesn't happen on FB.
