I had my dog long before I have my baby. My mother in law says that the dog is harmful to my little one. They transmit diseases and such. I love my dog to and just dont know where to leave him. If possible I want them both around but if it means safety for both then ill oblige. I wanted to ask the vet but cant be there til next week. So i need your advice for now. pls

well dogs are really good with babies in general. But my advice to you is not to move out your dog when the baby comes it should be before that or they might think that the baby is the reason why they are outside which means more trouble to you.
There also some breeds that are more protective of babies like the american bulldog. so keep a watch on them with your baby and other visiting people.

thats great! I have heard stories of leaving the dog outside when the baby comes then the dog will get aggresive about it.

Indeed dogs can transmit various diseases as long as you don't regularly vaccinate your dog. But if you raise your dog properly with all the necessary precautions taken, why not keep it? I'd suggest you keep the dog away from the baby at least until the baby is 18 months old, just try to limit their contacts. Personally I wouldn't keep the dog but it's easy to say when I don't have a dog. You can try keep the animal far from the child or at least not to let it near your baby very often. Keep the dog healthy and somewhere outside of the house.

It is fine as long as you introduce your new baby to your dog nicely. Always keep an eye on them.
I have both dog and baby, my dog behaves good, the first day when we bruoght baby home, we told the dog heis his boss as well so the dog knows. As far as disease, keep the house, your dog, your baby's toy clean regularly, it will be just fine.

It depends on how you raised the dog, like my dog spark, his well taken care of by a vet doctor, always neat and healthy. So if your dog is well taken care of, it can't transmit any disease to your baby. In conclusion, if you have a healthy dog you have no problem keeping him with your baby.

Yes it is okay to have Dogs at home, But make sure that the dog is away from your baby. I suggest to put your dog in a cage. The Dog's hair can cause a danger to your baby.
