Hi Friends,
These days Anna Hazare, a 73-year-old Gandhian, sits in the burning sun fasting, and he will stay until death -- unless the government agrees to consider a powerful law that could rid Indian politics of the scourge of corruption.
This “Modern Mahatma” is taking the utmost act of courage and determination to push through a bill that would give an independent body the power to punish corruption -- even in the Prime Minister’s office. Across the country a movement has exploded, and a media storm of pressure has been sparked that’s engulfing Singh. But dirty politicians are desperately trying to water down or kill the law.
For the first time in forty three years, we have the chance to change the way politics is done. Let's join together and stand with Anna Hazare to tackle corruption and clean up Indian politics.
I request you to register you response in all way, be it SMS, call, Facebook, twitter or any other platform.
I support Anna Hazare, do you?

Yes, I support Anna Hazare to the hilt…all suffering common Indians will! After all, this scourge of scam has been there for long, its only in this age of internet and better communication that people are coming to know of these things…there is not a single sphere and single position today (from lowest employees to highest chairman) in the govt sector, where you don’t have to bribe somebody to get things done…you have to shell out Rs. 30 to the doorman just to be allowed to enter the chamber of an officer… so you can well imagine the rot!
However, I feel that there could have been similar such sit-ins at other cities too…Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore etc., so that more and more people could physically participate instead of just registering solidarity. More and more people should become visible to make the govt sit up…just online campaign will not really help, also there are many like me who want to actively participate in some way but its not possible for us to go to Delhi.

Hi Rajib,
I don’t think Gandhi’s non-violence brought us independence. If indeed the intention of our leaders was only patriotism and freedom then India would not have been partitioned. As it is, it was a bloody affair…some more blood would have been shed if the leaders stuck to one nation theory but at least this great country would not have suffered the ignominy of a partition. From that time itself, the leaders were busy promoting their own interest and ambitions. The British left coz they had sucked India as much as they could and they were then fed-up with all the mess…they just gathered their own booty and left us to our fate…
If the history of Indian freedom struggle is ever told truthfully, we’ll find a lot more sacrificed by many people whose name is lost to obscurity purposefully by the Nehru-Gandhi clan so that only their name stays on forever. We Indians have been brainwashed into believing that it was only for the Nehru-Gandhi movement that India got her freedom and hence we should forever worship them. Even now in any corner of this land whenever some government scheme takes place, it is always in the name of some Nehru or Gandhi…as if there is no local hero worthy of a national honour.

@sudipta,
do you think mere supporting Anna Hazare would help better the situation. Gandhi was there preaching the benefit of non violence. But you and I know to what extent violence had gone at different part of the Nation.
Some time I feel/doubt if it was non violence that brought us Independence.

Hi Ajay,
We are unfortunate that we are not having a few more Anna Hazare. The way he is showing inflexibility to his decision and principle over the "Lok pal Bill' it seems many corrupt politician s would be finding some other jobs.
Already Sharad Pwoer has already resigned from the GoM. But Anna is asking him to quit from the govt. Now almost all parts of the country is unfolding their support and if the pressure is more on the govt may be to some extent we would be living at least living in a corruption free society.

I too was going to start a discussion on Mr. Anna Hazare. As soon as I searched it on Mylot, I came to this discussion. I did not wanted to create any duplicate discussion either. Great work dude.
Anna Hazare is a genius who converted a deserted village into a super power. A patriot who led India into many Wars for its safety. He was a leader whom people know for his work. Now, why the hell we should support cricketers who are not strong to face corruption and go for it instead. Everyone wants there should be a straight way that they could work upon. But, when reality hits us, we feel cheated and disturbed. Some of us leave the matter as it is and others take upon others for help and some more cheat upon more other people. I think India will soon become a superpower if and only if Anna is supported further more. I too am a son of an Army personal. This breed of people that come from army background are free from corruption and other such dirts of the world. I don't know what is the reason behind this is. May be because a person in army has to work all time and so gets no time to think about corruption.
Any way corruption is a very serious topic and we should take action now. Or it will be now or never. Any talent could be exponentiationed once things are in good hand. Many new crickets even much better than the ones now, could be made.

Guys,
I know it's too late to respond to this post but this issue still exists in this country and seems that we will be fighting for this in future as well.
Anna is still struggling to get a strong Lokpal in place and that will definitely happen some day.
Thank You for sharing your thoughts :)

He is a devoted Gandhi follower working for his nation and we all need to support him in this movement. let the govt try not to do their part but we will continue with the strong will power.
Govt is not keen or committed to have a strong Lokpal as their own people will be under scanner.
Thank You for sharing.
