I feel a little bit worried about my country because we are really unprepared with natural disasters and with the current predictions and studies done after a 8.0+ earthquake destruction in this country, I am very worried about it. According to that study, the area where I am living at will go under the drains when a powerful earthquake like what happened in japan will happen one day. I am really worried about it that sudden shakes and moving of the ground will let me think that a earthquake is happening or about to happen. how about you? are you worried something about a powerful earthquake hitting your area?

I would be packing up my kids and even if we had to walk leaving to some where else. Our country is big enough to not need passports to get far enough away. I would also be more on guard. I hate to say it but Americans (as proved by Katrina) are much more violent and willing to take advantage of a bad situation. I would have fear of the rapings and the stealing that happened down south and out west during the wild fires where house that where evacuated had so much stolen from them.

Well I have experienced strong flooding in my country and even if there is no looting and such, I have seen that the government really did not do anything. Yes i have heard of those unfortunate incidents in katrina which is really unfortunate.

We too had bad flooding too and it covered more area then Katrina but here in the mountains we take care of our own which is good because no one including the government helped us much. The flooding affected the Appalachians from Pennsylvania down through Virginia.

Hello brothr, Not only you or me, but all are scared of natural disasters. I know the people of Japan are facing really tough time. If there is big earth quack first I will try to save my family and run for a safer place I mean where there are not so many tress and electric wares. And it is too big and life taking one, what could I do?

I am scared a bit that when it happens i don't really know where to go. Our place is really not that crowded but not that open but there are a lot of accessible areas so you will not be toppled down by buildings or trees.

That truly would be devastating and I don't know how I would handle this situation. I live in London and we never get Earthquakes over here thankfully. I think that we are learning a lot about earthquakes though and it's sad that we have to gain our knowledge through the suffering of others when we see the news stories on the tv and so forth. I think the best we can do is just hope that we don't have an earthquake and if we do try and pull together to survive and move on. Andrew
