According to D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton, banning the use of tax dollars to pay for abortion is
the functional equivalent of bombing innocent civilians,
so let me get this straight, not allowing you to kill babies with tax money is like killing innocent people.....
wow I guess we have different views on killing....

There is no logic to most pro abortion debates. Just like any other hateful, bigoted act.
Abortion IS hate.

I'm confused, who's the bomber/abortinists and who's the victim? Is she saying abortionists are bombers? I am soooo confused

They can't explain it. Why can the kill innocent babies and protest against killing murderers...easy; call good evil and evil good. Some will buy it and keep putting them in office or giving them grant money to say what they say.

I still not haven't gotten over that back in the 70s when we were trying to have a baby by natural means, there were lots of doctors in the city I used to live in who would do abortions and only one who was sort of a fertility doctor. I say sort of, because even he was reluctant. So I have no sympathy with pro abortionists. As for adoption, I would have rather carried my adopted twins in my own womb and nursed them instead of holding the bottle close and hoped that would be a good bonding experience.

Thank you. When friends found out they were adopted, they were surprised because they said they look just like me. Yes, sure do. Even have the same weight problem as I do -just have to look at food, and we gain.

You loved them and gave them a home and a life. That is bonding.

The woman is, of course, deranged and downright evil. There are few greater horrors than killing an innocent child in its mother's womb.

I was not critising YOU... I was expanding on the evil and the horror of it all. It needs to be said. Epicure touched on it, I expanded on it.

Who fights to stay alive by pushing the vaccuum away. Who flinches when it touches his/her skin.
If those statements bother anyone, then abortion should bother you too. Cause its been documented on video.

As I understand it, the notion is that tax dollars are there to justify and support dumb people who do dumb things and deserve better than to be held responsible for their actions. In that light, this makes absolute sense..Of course, that's certifiably crazy but who are we to get in the way of the 'rights and freedoms' of dumb people to do dumb things. Far better to deny the right and freedom of the innocents to live..because they can't argue with the stupidity of it all. Perhaps we should enforce a bit of 'equal treatment under the law' and allow abortions only if the individual getting said abortion gets a bullet between the eyes..humanely, of course. We wouldn't want to deny them the right to die humanely now would we..
Enjoy!

great idea greenfeathers, I like the bullet between the eye, but Isay we can still save the fetus.
by the way, your definition of abortion is a little different from our Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg -
In an interview with the New York Times, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said that at the time Roe v. Wade was decided, "there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of."

sooo she admitted minorities were targeted? wow
or maybe she meant the mentally challenged?
discrimination justified by a supreme court justice!
and it is all ok?
This opens the door for abortion being a civil rights issue, doesn't it? I mean if the unborn were a target group for oppression or elimination..this is it folks!
I mean, back in 1973 we did not have the technology to see inside the womb and see the fetus as a human...now we do. And we didn't have the technology to save the very young fetus born prematurely...now we do.
I think she left a wee opening for this becoming a civil rights issue.

Lets face the facts, this country is finished. All the craziness is getting worse. I am almost ashamed to say I am an American these days. I remember the days when things were good and sort of fair. Congress is a joke and all they want to do is act like 5 year olds in a school yard.

I guess that it costs a lot of money to have an abortion. It is a drain on the health service. I thought in America most people have medical insurance. There is a recession and it is wise for the dollars coming from tax not to go for abortion. Abortion is killing an innocent baby which I don't agree with. I don't know why Eleanor Holmes Norton said that not paying for abortions was the equivalent of bombing innocent civilians. I guess everyone has very different ideas about saving money and whether to pay for abortions for ladies in America.

Wow, I just learned that tax dollars funded abortions in the District of Columbia. I, personally, don't care if a woman gets an abortion or not. That's her choice as far as I am concerned. I don't, however, want to help pay for it and niether do a lot of people. I really don't understand this woman's comparison of stopping the funding of abortion to bombing innocent civilians.

Tax paying dollars pay for birth control. I would suggest we keep paying for birth control. If they want an abortion (killing of a human life) then I suggest they pay for it themselves. I do not think there should be a comparison. Shame on Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton,,,,
