Unusual toys for this cat!

He suddenly went stalking after something, I thought it was a bug, but I was wrong. I looked over to where he was, and he was playing with a pull tab cardboard piece off a box I had gotten last week. He wanted to play with a paper measuring tape as well, but I wouldn't let him. I find that my cat finds the oddest things to play with, especially when he's on a catnip high, which he was.

I used to have cats who loved the rings from juice jugs. I don't use them, so he doesn't have any to play with. My cat will play with tin foil balls too, if he knows they're around.

They don't get the milk/juice rings much any more, but they are happy with the craft poofs and hair elastics...

Cats can seem to make toys out of almost anything, it's one of my favorite things about having them! My cats love boxes & bags of course and the milk rings. Another favorite is a regular crumpled up piece of paper - they love that rattling sound it makes! One of my cats is crazy about my socks and since my sock drawer is broken, she brings out at least one pair of socks every afternoon to play with. Sometimes I have a hard time finding 2 socks that match because she takes them apart and moves them around!

My little female cat Sookie dragged one of my suede boots out of my closet and was carrying it around the house like a kitten--what a really strange toy!

Awhile back one of our cats came down the hall carrying something red and white in her mouth. I thought now what has that cat got into. She put it down and start batting it around. I had the opprotunity to look at it closer. It was my sock. I have socks I wear around the house with stuff animals on them. She likes to bat around the stuffed animals. So I took the stuff animal off and gave it to her. She was in heaven for hours. I could hardly believe how long she played with that darn thing. Best Wishes!

Hi Kris182_2000, I've read one website for animals especifically cats.Cats love to play and its only normal for them. Anything thats odd and moving will catcth their attention. I have a cat who has the same behaviour too. As what I've read, cats tends to have the same thinking like a two year old kid. Toddler so to speak that loves to play all the time.

My cats are indoor out door, so I do not see them playing with much in the house. However, our old guy, that I thought was probably dying, has turned very kittenish. He will find stuff and pick it up, and he will bat at the others and roll around on the floor. He has found a ball he used to play with years ago, and he is batting that around. I chalk it up to the fact that he is eating healthier. I have seen them drag shoe strings and I can just imagine your cat trying to get the tape measure.

My cat has been known to do things like that. Animals and kids can make a toy out of anything.

A friend of mine used to give their cats a syringe ball from a broken baster and fill it with peanut butter.

Cats can make a toy out of anything. My first cat loved boxes and bags, as do most cats. My newer cats don't play in boxes and bags as much as my old cat, but one of them in particular will play with ANYTHING. He is into my hair accessories, the crystals on the chandelier, pens and pencils, toothbrushes, my shoelaces as I am tying my shoes... he even got into my cousin-in-law's contact lenses which turned up in his food bowl a few days after he went off with them (they were in the case)! He also thinks he is a dog - if we don't cover the food on the kitchen counter at dinner time, he will jump up and try to eat it! I named him Garth after Garth Brooks and he has tried to play the guitar on occasion, so it's safe to say he is aptly named. He tries his hand at piano as well. Both of my cats love to play with napkins and pipe cleaners. Feathers are also a favorite, especially for my little girl.
