Do you still write with Pen and Paper to jot down your ideas?

Before I post anywhere, I usually put it down on a piece of paper just to capture my initial idea.
I find pen and paper more conducive to writing than typing.
I find the thin line of ink makes me focus on my topic more as i scribble furiously trying to hold on to the fleeting idea or inspiration
After that, I go to my laptop and type everything and hit upload.

hahaha you must be responding to every post you see huh?
remember, quality not quantity
but a good quantity with good quality is the perfect combination
vague answers or short answers usually don't amount to anything on mylot

I too focus better on paper. The ideas tend to get lost in the mess that is lights and buttons of the computer. Also I draw some of my ideas out picture wise which I cannot do on a computer.

hmmm you might want to try a tablet.
there are really good tablets that can handle handwriting and drawing and then post immediately on the web :D

Its a good question to ask, I mostly these days too use a pen for scribbling down my ideas and thoughts. Mostly the silliest of the ideas are the one's which prove pretty useful. These days with my laptop too, I am liking the idea of going for the notepad or worksheet scribblings, like you too suggest.
The overwritten points and make-over lists do put an additional informational idea to us when we gaze at it after sometime. Yet the original enthusiasm would come by holding a pen and keep on writing.

silly thoughts turn into gold once transferred from paper to mylot
it's a wonder how someone can live on just thoughts and mylot alone
don't ever lose that enthusiasm

Its true enough and always hold its ground. A hard copy is always better than a soft one. My lot is an example when the mere opposite is the case. Thoughts are here changed into gold when we discuss them all. The old memories and similar ideas always creep up when we are writing here. This is the essence of all our enthusiasms, right.

yes i still do writing with pen and paper. i even have a notebook to jot down anything that comes in my mind. like my market list or anything that we need to buy for the house, or to jot down our daily expenses, so that i will know where the money goes, or jot down a poem. . anything. i like writing and seeing my penmanship. i misses the times when i was still studying and playing with my writings, wheter it is cursive or not. i just love it =)

how many words per minute?
oh and what happens if you deleted an entire line of thought and then decided to use it again but could not recall what exactly it was you had just deleted seconds or minutes ago?
and if you can't use the undo button

I always try to have paper and pen with me so that when I decide that I have an idea to write about, I can jot it down and not forget it. plus, I take notes of stories that I hear or of websites that I know of that I do not want to forget.

I do,and one of the thing that is always inside my bag is pen and paper.
I always carry pen and paper when i go out,go to malls or have some stroll.
I love to write my ideas in a paper first before having it finalized.
happy weekend

I will still write down my writing ideas with pen and paper. Sometimes it is quickest way not to lose the thought and paper and pen is usually handy. there is no waiting for the computer to boot up.

are you typing these words into your computer or writing it with a digital pen?
i'd love to meld the two together

Yeah,I always do that in that way I can focus more on what's on my mind.If I type directly and post,it will take me longer time before I finish.By writing it, you can add more words to your topic or response.

well when i post a new discussion it's usually been written down on paper first so that i can add or deduct words
but my responses are spur of the moment responses
no thinking
just a lot of reading and ... hehehe i take it back... i do think about what to respond before typing it down

Oh, do you mean before you post on here or somewhere else? No, I'd rather just type it all out. But I'm a list person.. I like to make lists to get things done. I used to write all my list down on paper but now I've started to type them all up on my computer. I usually have to write something out, or type it out, to get everything out that I want done.

Short Pencil is better than a long memory. I always have my pen and notepad with me wherever I go. I write spontaneously. I am not use to write rough drafts. When writing articles I go directly in typing it, the ideas flow freely with my hands on the keyboard. I am not abandoning my pen and notepad in writing my articles. But I used them in some other ways, like if I am outside without my computer and needs to jot down something...

I still write use paper and pencil because I have no personal computer yet.(I'm planning to earn good amount at mylot to buy my own pc.) And the other night, I was able to write 15 discussions I could start. I wrote it on a paper. It's just too bad the paper flew and I could no longer find. I learned a lesson from that. I'm planning to buy a small notebook exclusively for mylot.

a notebook that you can easily pocket is probably what you'd need
as long as you can write comfortably enough on it
you can also use the lazy techie's notebook which is the voice recorded hehehe

it must be the pen sending messages to your brain from the paper to your hand
sometimes the physical things we do brings back thoughts and emotions that can jolt a memory in us that then leads to brilliant ideas
which we share on mylot hehehe

Just like you, i make use of my pen and paper to scribble down thoughts and ideas.
I would always have a pair in my bag to jot down any thought or idea that may suddenly come up. As i ride a jeepney and when suddenly a thought or idea came, i would jot down it down and when i get home expound on it. It's also useful in jotting down needs that you thought of buying.
It is this way , that my discussions at Mylot are done.

yeah it's the same as mine
usually i just jot down titles and little snippets of the entire post and when i have more time i try to write more and at least come up with a complete thought
sometimes it's better to always have pen and paper in hand
at least no snatcher will try to take it from you when you pull it out in public

I still do. I usually conceive my writing ideas on paper, especially if I'm in desperate need of one. I usually keep a small notebook and an attached pen for this purpose. I also write lists (due to my mild OCD) for any activities or tasks that needed to be done. In extension, i write all my appointments so I don't forget them easily.
Apart form the lists and ideas, i also write all my drafts into paper before actually encoding them into the computer. It has been my practice since high school and I found out that it works better for me and my work. Writing my draft on the paper helps me focus (the computer is a good tool to complete distraction, especially if you have an internet connection). It also helps shape my thoughts for a longer period of time without being distracted by the internet or any computer applications.
