I am a huge fan of movie but before i watch one i really put a lot of effort in making the choice of what is the most worthy my time.I adore that kind of stuff of being weird ,nonmainstream, controversial . It's not always negative but sometimes really helps you appreciate the other side of humankind .I make a list of this kind of flicks of any genre ,hope y'all can make your criticism about this .
Malena 2000
Nekromantik 1987
Trainspotting 1996
A clockwork orange 1971
Se7en 1995
Requiem for a dream 2000

Of the ones you listed , I have only seen Requiem For A dream. All I can say is Heavy! what is your all time favorite film? I think the answer to this says more aboit a person than most questions people ask. Mine is Usual Suspects with Casablanca a close second.

So to me this means we both like to be challenged by a plot and that we like smartly written films. We also like a classic love story. Fantastic!

I've seen Malena and i can say it's a good movie of a woman's sacrifices and enduring love.
Hannibal another proof of the weird and unthinkable mind of human species.
About the other movies,i was not able to watched those.
I prefer watching movies based from real events and documentaries.

have you seen Memento? I think you would like it - not very typical.
I saw the new one, I don't know about the old one. It's about a guy who was in an accident and lost his short term memory. In the accident his wife was murdered, so now he is trying to get revenge, even though he can't remember where he is every five minutes.
There are some movies I like that are very philosophical, yet have no real plot. Richard Linklater is an independent director, and he never even went to film school. I love his movies, and you might like them since you like things that aren't mainstream. His best are Waking Life and Before Sunset.

I guess those kinds of rituals make us different from one another. Although you have a point. Maybe you don't wanna waste your time that's why you're always like that before you watch a movie.

I do too. I like to pick a good movie that will lead to discussion about it with people. I hate watching movies that i feel i have wasted my time on. I buy movies sometimes with hopes that it will turn out to be good. Sometime they dont sometimes they do. I love gore and comedy. Tropic Thunder is one of my favs.
