Our parents told us to turn the lights off each time we left a room, and it turns out they were right! It not only saves electrical use but is also safer.
Sometimes we think that frequently having to turn the lights on and off wastes energy. But only older fluorescent lights need an initial burst of energy to light up, and that is so small that having the lights turned off compensates for this burst in a matter of seconds.

Yes,it is economical to to shutdown the lights when we leave a room this is because of several reasons:
1.Turn off lights will save electric energy.
2.Save our planet because turn off light at night will avoid insects to flying over the light bulb until it die.
3.Save money.

We were told when we were children to turn the lights and fans off to save electricity. I think it is a good idea to save electricity when we can. I think there are lots of ways of save electricity and we should use CFL bulbs instead of other bulbs. Now a days it is good to have LED bulbs that consumes less energy. I think it is always good to turn lights and other things off when do not use them.

I always have a habit of shutting the lights off when leaving the rooms, my kitchen and the dinning room are open style, I also turn all the lights off when finish cooking and dinner time. I have allt he curtains open during the day until I feel I need lights to read on the computer in the evening, I don't use light at all during the day unless it is cloudy and dark out.

Turning off the lights when not in use saves energy as well as money. Aside from it saves the earth from draining it's scarce energy sources, it also cuts are budget for electricity bill. :)
Well, it is safer too, since it can cause burning of properties if we leave it on without us guarding it.
