Why do they do it?

All these online earning sites, paid to post, paid to read, paid to chat, paid to socialize, paypal, check, alertpay, points, minimum cashouts, automatic, must be requested, etc. etc. etc. Everybody does it differently.
Why do you suppose there are minimums and cashouts that have to be requested? Do they want to keep your money longer? See if you are serious about the site? Hope that you give up on the site and they can keep the money? Frustrate their users, what?
btw I was very pleased to see that I got an automatic payout from MatesGate. All I did is sign up, load a profile pic, add a few friends, and boom, a whopping 29 cents.
Now see, that's what I like. Give you your money automatically and that's it! I wish every site did like that...

I do ics which is short surveys. They don't do auto pay but you can cash out at $2. I like dollar surveys and Pinecone who does pay automatically after completeing surveys.

I guess it's because people complain about being spammed. But you can PM me your ICS link (might how to send a friend request first).
A friend is going to invite me to Pinecone as soon as they have another referral drive (or whatever they call it).

Pinecone is hard to get into. It took me awhile to get into but I only have a household of 2 so probably why it took awhile. I wish we could send referrals here since ICS has referral program also. I don't why there's such strict rules here reguarding referrals.

Hi,dawnald!
I think there are several reasons for them to set the minimum cashouts, like you mentioned above.I tend to believe that they want to check out if we are serious about the sites.Well, don't wanna think about the unpleasant sides.
I did love one site called Pickjack.Once you get eight cents, you can request the payment.Somehow they don't pay for the users any longer.A real pity.

I had a few payouts there before they stopped paying. But after a while the questions just got really dumb.

Oh yes I signed up to matesgates and only uploaded a picture and ran then turns out I received a whooping 9 cents to PayPal and I though huh?? But okay I guess that is all it took. I too wish every site gave automatic money but come to think about myLot does.
As for the other sites that do not auto pay you, my only guess is they hope you go away at some point and they get to keep it.

Yeah, though if it's worth it (like Vindale's $50 payout), I'll stay even though you have to request it.

I am not doing much there, because I keep getting thirteen year old girls with nasty photos and propositions for my friends.

Sign up to my site and I promise you nothing. Instant nothing or you can wait and still get nothing. In fact as a special introductory offer I am trebling the minimum payout. YES. Three times nothing. I can hardly believe my own generosity. So what are you waiting for? Go to www.nadapayday.com and get you share of nothing right now.
Terms and conditions apply. Nothing in this offer is meant to be vaguely truthful. Earning predictions are laughably inaccurate and reflect those of a man that spammed the site's owner once. Antarctic law applies. In all cases the site owner wins.

I think they do want to keep the money and unless you request it and maybe even by a certain time they can use it themselves. I have just stayed a member of ones that I am comfortable with and they work for me, not against me. Now my survery site let me accumulate points for along as I want to but the others automatically pay at a certain amount. The other sites can go hang for all I care. Its like you have to beg them for what is yours.

There is only so many hours in the day and wasting any of them on sites that aren't worth the effort is rediculous.

Hi Dawn! I am glad that I have finally been able to get back on MyLot. PM me your link, I would gladly sign up. It is nice that a site pays you automatically without requesting it.

Good question... I wondered that for quite awhile until my aunt told me why... Those sites have to keep some kind of balance in their account to keep the site up and running... granted it may seem like you are doing all of the work and they are just getting rich from your work... but thats not 100 percent true... There are cost to keep a website going, electricity, etc.etc. and they want people to stay with there program to this is to make new commers work their site for so long, before they get paid... The thing that many websites do not consider is the fact that if the min pay out is too high people will quit long before reaching the first goal...

If they manage it right, and calculate the earnings in such a way that they always have money in the bank, you'd think they wouldn't have to do that...
@dawnald (85146)

And then people sign up also thinking they can make a quick buck...

Yes you would think that.. But many start their site up without doing the research that it takes to put up a site and keep it going... Leg work is too much work for some... and they think that they can just hurry up to make a buck... well thats not the real world...

hi,
i also ask that why they need to reach the minimum payment to cash it out,but i learn to wait for that cash out in minimum payment,i think they do that to see if the member can wait or can be active for long, and maybe to contribute more in this site.

Maybe, but sometimes it just isn't worth it.

Maybe they are just careful because of those hackers, spammers and whatever computer robbers who have the knowledge to steal from those working hard just to earn. And so they maybe just trying to figure out first if the one asking for cash out is the real owner of the request done. I have read so much based on the experience of others that when they have to ask for that kind of request somebody had done it already for them. And so they are advised to change their password, but of course I agree with you that it is much easier if our earnings flows directly to our account without so many attachments that as you see it wow so much pennies.

I don't know but I think the reason there are minimum payments is to keep the bookkeeping easier. With a lot of people requesting payout at any level, it could become a full time job just doing that. I know that some pay out automatically each month no matter how much you have and I suspect that's a bookkeeping thing, too. If they pay everyone at the same time, the books are cleared for the next month's worth of business.

I was thinking they keep it longer so you would be motivated to keep active on their site - and perhaps eventually giving up so they won't have to pay you. Hubby and I theorized this for something else, but maybe they keep our "earnings" in an account where they can build some interest and make money from "our" money. Ohhhhh, I'll have to check out that MatesGate (we all trust your reviews on these sites). BTW I'm halfway to getting my pay pal card at SB!!

Yes, it would be nice for an instant payout. However, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said they really hope they can keep their money because you forgot about them. Or maybe just got tired of the little games. Best Wishes!

Good to See that Matesgate is kind of Auto Pay Site. We all Earn different Money and have different Payment Processors. As our Information is different to. It would be
to Expensive for All Site to be on Auto Pay. The Sites got Expenses to and many Members to Keep Track of. So You need Time and the Proper Information to get the Money You Earned.
