The NBA draft is approaching, and the NCAA season has ended (with a brutal final game, I might add). I love the draft, as I love all things basketball, and I'm wondering what peoples' take on "The Jimmer" is.
Bill Simmons, a ESPN writer and podcaster indicates that he thinks Jimmer could have a great career if he ends up in a good situation, but he dreads if he goes somewhere like the Bobcats. (Me too - ugh!)
A lot of people are still comparing him to Eddie House but I think that's crazy. The kid absolutely lit up the NCAA this season (not to mention last), he can create his own shot, and he's not selfish with the ball. It's not his fault he was his team's best player and that their 2nd best got kicked off the team.
I think when you see a guy able to take a really poor team and make them relevant and legitimate, he's for real. I know there's another argument out there that he doesn't play defence, but the truth is that he wasn't really asked to - he was told to save his energy for offence and the rest of the team would take care of the D.
I think I see a little Steph Curry more than I see Eddie House.
Your thoughts?

I really don't know how jimmer fredette play but i do know that this years Duke freshman will enter the NBA draft this june.if jimmer really plays like steph curry as you propose, then he should be given a shot at the NBA draft.if he shoots 3 pointers like curry or better than curry,he deserves every NBA scout's attention.by the way, eddie house is a good player.i am a miami fan.keep posting here on mylot my friend.keep posting on NBA and other basketball stuff.

Hi rencarl,
Absolutely - Kyrie Irving from Duke is going to be excellent. His NBA comp is Chris Paul, and he's a more polished shooter than Derrick Rose or John Wall were when they entered the NBA. However, people will be disappointed if they want another Wall or Rose - Irving doesn't have the athleticism that those guys did/do.
The Jimmer is going to get attention for his shooting, but I hope that a team that'd be a good fit don't pass him up because they're concerned about his PG skills and whatnot. Winners are winners, no matter what, and Jimmer's a winner.
I have no issue with Eddie House, but he's no starting PG, and I guess I'm still wondering what other peoples' take is if Jimmer can start in the League.

You nailed it my friend. I was actually referring to irving. Is he really a CP3 type or a D-rose type?if that is the case then irving will surely be on top of the draft class this year.teams right now are looking for a point guard or a shooting guard just like john wall.so far wall has been producing good numbers.
Do you know a florida guy in the name of vernon macklin?he is a 6-10 guy who caught some NBA scouts' attention.he is athletic but some early scouting report says that this guy lacks blocking skills and almost always goes to his right in low post games.i hope there will be more all star caliber big guys in this year's NBA draft. The NBA needs more o'neal,KG,howard prodigy.
