My sister has been looking for good sites where she can download e-books for free. I really can't help her that much. I have given her all the sites I know and she has already downloaded those that interests her. Now, she is in search for additional sites. Do you have any suggestions for sites that offer free e-books?

The site that you can find the MOST e-books is:
http://freebookspot.cc/
Although most of the books on there are free non-copyrighted books please be aware that there is content on there that is indeed copy-written and therefore can be illegal.
Some other places are the Gutenberg project and some other places
Here are a couple of web sites that list places where you can find more than enough ebooks to keep you busy for a long long time!

Hope that helps you out!

The blog Mashable posted a list several months ago. There may be some others that are not on their list but this is a good starting point.

Hi there!
My sister just opened the site you have shared and she is now downloading some of those she has seen through mashable. This is really great! Thanks for the help!

I hope your sister is getting these free eBooks legally. My book piracy discussion is right under yours, if you haven't noticed. Don't pirate! Always check out a site to make sure it's legit.
Do a search for books in the public domain, you can get those online for free anywhere completely legal. Also recommend a check with the local library to see if they have an eBook program available. They offer free downloads of eBooks which I think expire within a set amount of time, just like checking out a print book.

Depending on what kind of reader she has, she can possibly just log into her local library. I live in the Phoenix, AZ area and know that I can download e-books with my library card at no charge. It's just like checking out a book - you download for a set amount of days then just delete it when you are done. I have an Amazon Kindle, so my reader is not supported by the library's downloads. I do also enjoy audiobooks and this is how I get most of my audiobooks. :-)
I also subscribed to a website called Pixels of Ink (www.pixelofink.com) that hilights bargain and free Kindle supported e-books from Amazon.com. I have gotten so many this way that I wonder if I'll ever really have the time to read all of them! :-)
If your sister has a Nook, I know that Barns & Noble have free e-books on their site as well, and I suppose that you sister has already looked through many of them. Unfortunately, I do not really know of any other Nook supported free e-book sites other than the library.
I know that both Amazon and B&N have links to the many free e-book sites and Amazon has a good size article on how to find them. I can't believe that she has already tried every single one of those unless she's had her reader for years and has spent more time researching than reading. It may take a little more effort on her (or both if you want to help her) part to find a site that has what she wants... but take into consideration that many have much of the same thing. Just like audiobooks, books and movies, you do have to remember that the artist, or author in this case, does need to make some money so not all titles will be available for free.
Best of luck,
Pinka

Hello there! I also download e-books in the net. I suggest free-ebooks.net and 4shared.com. They are my trusted sites. Just Enjoy Downloading There.

I think 4shared has been on her list for a while. But now that you have reminded me about it, I will remind her about checking on new uploaded ebooks. Thanks!

I'm not sure of any sites that offer this right now. I will come back and post some if I come across any. I hope others here at Mylot are able to help you out more with this.
