Those Lazy bums should get a real job

I am so agitated when I saw those lazy bums stand on the highway shoulder raising a cardboard asking for sympathy. They are hungry and they need food etc..... From what I saw, they are capable of work to earn, and not begging money on the street. Also, I experienced people asking for spare changes, or they came up to me for those lame excuses such as no money for a ride home or something like that. What I sympathize for are those undocumented aliens, who our people blame for their illegal entry to our country, and took all of our jobs. But at least they are willing to work, and they want to earn money, instead of asking for money though. So, they can do it, why our people can't do the same, instead of asking for government aide or sympathy of others? I just couldn't understand it.

I definitely agree with you kingparker... People should get a real job instead of depending from other people. But sometimes we cannot blame them because we also know that there are needs that they can't comply. Let's cite an example, People want to get a job to have income and raise their family but they can't get into job because of many requirements and qualifications needed. I think it's also a big reason.

Well, if you are willing to look for one, you definitely would get one at least. Even though it is a part - time job. What about those Mexicans, and other undocumented immigrants, they clean houses, they dump trashes, they still make a living here. Why can't they?

I'm happy exchanging comment with you kingparker,...
Somehow it usually depends on the company you are applying for. If you are looking for a job that will raise you from poverty, those jobs is not suited for. You have to find a high income job. And somehow i can say it depends on the country you are leaving and the type of government system that you have.

Well, did you know that most of these people actually own homes and nice cars bigger and better than a lot of the working folk do. Biggest problem is that they do not have to pay Taxes on the money they are bringing in as no one can ever really trace it. They are also making it bad for those who really need the help out there as well. But sometimes they could be legit, and not able to get jobs due to the Bad economy, etc. The problem is how do you really know the True ones from the fakes?

I get just as mad as your are. Not only are they capable of working but they just don't want to. It's so much easier to panhandle. This is their job. They think they are owed. Giving them money is a bad thing. You should watch John Strossel's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OQjlzh279E&feature=related He has a good piece on these people. I"m sure that there are some that need help but most are capable of working.

I know what you mean. We have people like that around our area too. They will stand out there and hold a sign and they have clean clothes on etc. How did that happen if they need money so badly? I think they need to get a job and help themselves also and stop begging from those of us who do work our butt off daily.

Hi kinfparker,
I can understand what you are trying to say. it is a very normal site in India that people would ask for money on all the red lights and would go to any extend. They would show Fake prescription from some doctor showing he/she needs costly medicines, or would have a lady ready to deleiver on road and asking you to give some money so they can take her to Government Hospital. You pass the red light next day she is still there , ready to deleiver. I dont know which country you are from but all over the world, if you have poor neighbours like we do, then you are bound to have illegal refugges. No sir they dont take your jobs because they are not well educated. So all they do is small Jobs. Also i dont know why west now cribbs about jobs, when it looted third world of money for generations ( colonization and still having high standards because of that money) and always talked about free market when it suited them. but as soon as third world started cathing up with them, there is demand of job protection.

You can't blame them, maybe they were not given opportunity to work so they can earn a living. There are also lots of them in our country, beggars and scavengers who, you will see on the side streets asking for alms. It is actually not permitted to give alms to them because they will not work for themselves and will only wait for people who will pity them and give them money. A government institution is assigned to get them and keep them in a shelter where they will be given food and a place to sleep on but they keep on escaping from that shelter. They rather go in the streets and ask for alms.

Hi King!
There are so many more each day that it is getting too difficult to delineate who actually needs the help. I agree some need to find any type of work and not depend on the begging for money. There are some that simply can't find work and are down on their luck.
However it takes persistence to beg for money so the same type of persistence should be applied to getting/finding work.

I couldn't agree with you more. Instead of working their butt out in finding a job, they sit and beg. That's the irony because these people are pretty much capable of doing something worthy in their life and yet they spend it on the streets begging. They do not only waste their time, they are also wasting their potentials.

I agree that people should be trying harder to get jobs rather than sit there and beg. However, with that said...Many jobs have high standards and wont even consider those people in those conditions. If one of those people on the streets begging, really have no other clothes, places to shower and get clean, I doubt any legit job is going to give them a second look.
Look at most standards managers want...They want you to bring a resume, come clean and presentable among other things...Most homeless people arent even close to meeting those.
