Setting limits on referral rewards..

Does it frustrate you when sites set limits on what you can earn from your referrals? Well I'm not usually successful at getting many referrals, but I was able to get 2 active referrals on Swagbucks. I was so excited every time I saw my Swagbucks balance go up and not know why. Everytime I would go to the website and see why my bucks went up and saw that I got 5-10 points from one of my 2 referrals. Well yesterday my points went up quite a bit, and I figured both of my referrals must have been getting some points. I look at my ledger.. and it turns out only 1 got points.. in fact the other one hasn't earned me any points all week. She used to earn at least once a day.. so I wondered if maybe she's starting to go inactive. Well I was digging around and found out that this referral has earned me 1000 points, and apparently that's the limit on Swagbucks. So I'll no longer earn any points for this referral. Do you have any Swagbucks referrals that have already earned their max of 1000 points for you? Do you think we should continue to earn points from our referrals above and beyond 1000? P.S. I want to officially thank both of my referrals for being the most awesome referrals ever!

Too bad that the site you have mentioned was only for targeted country members only like US, UK and Canada. Would you want to get direct active referral? So that you won't counted on that two referrals.

These are direct active referrals.. there's just a limit as to how much I can earn from them.

I know what you have meaned, but as you said that you only have 2 direct referral. Even they are active, but how much you can get from that 2 referral? While as you have mentioned, they are reach the limit point.

I haven't ever been on swagbucks....and I did have a couple of referrals here but they never panned out...I think mylot is a place not everyone likes to go...but I love it so I guess that's all that matters!

Darn I hate when I post a response and then get an error page! I've never gotten any Mylot referrals. Generally I get friends from Mylot to sign up for other sites..

Wow!! That is a shame that they have limited the amount you can earn from a Referral. I have never had this happen to me on any site, or such and actually wished some of my referrals even in the online Jerky business I am doing would do more. I find that yes you do make more from active referrals but when a site starts limiting the amounts, it makes you wonder for sure.

I think swagbucks is the first one I've come across that set a limit. I think that we still should get something from our referrals. Like maybe one swagbuck for them signing in. So at most we would get 30 or so bucks a month from our referral. Maybe someone should suggest that to them. I only have 2 referrals on swagbucks right now. They are both sort of active but I think they have a ways to go before they earn my 1000 bucks. I keep trying to get more, it post on facebook every time I win but no one is interested.

The 2 I've gotten have come from here. I post to Facebook, Twitter.. everywhere I can think of.. but still I've only got those 2. The second is at about 500 points so won't be long before I stop earning points from her too. For the past month or so the only points I've earned on Swagbucks have primarily been from my referrals because I haven't had the time to do as much as I used to on there. I still get the points each day for the toolbar, survey, NOSO, and polls.. but I only earn search points for myself like once a week lately.

I had no idea they did that, but then again I don't have any referrals either! That really doesn't seem fair, does it? I'm doing really good there without any referrals. I've earned $45 in Amazon.com gift cards with another one pretty close. I actually qualified for two surveys in the past few days and that's strange. I don't know what it is that always makes me be disqualified but my opinion is not usually very valuable I guess! Annie

I'm glad you're doing so well. You started after me and have almost as much as I do.. and I have 2 active referrals. I don't do much on there though.. just a few searches now and then.

Hi katsmeow! Yeah it kind of is bad, I mean the referrals would not have been there without your recommendation. So you get limited and yet the site continues to earn. Sure I can understand they have upkeep and expenses but it would be nice to get even half of the initial referral earning reward as a thank you and encouragement to continue to bring others. I can hope right. lol

Yes that would be nice. I'm happy my referrals are doing so well for themselves.. but it would be better if I could continue to earn.. even a tenth of their points or something.. you know.

That limit is exactly why I don't promote Swagbucks much. I like referral systems because they can give you a residual income that will last indefinitely. On Swagbucks that possibility isn't there because once your referrals reaches that 1000 point cap you can't earn any more from him or her. In my experience, it's always a small percentage of referrals who are active to begin with...you might need to get 10, 20, 30 referrals to get ONE really active user! Then Swagbucks turns around and says, "Well, you've earned enough from that one referral. Go find 10, 20, 30 more to get one more active one!)

That is awesome that you have a referral that has already earned you the maximum of 1000 swagbucks that you are able to earn from referrals on the site. As for me, I only have one referral and I haven't gotten close to getting the maximum from him, but that is because it is my husband and he really doesn't use the computer all that often. With that said, I think it does make sense to have a limit on what you are able to get from referrals, but I also think that it is a bummer when you've reached that threshold and then you have to try to find some new referrals.
