tukoy gecko

April 9, 2011 7:29am CST
Almost everyone in town is talking on million dollar gecko or "tuko". I mean the giant one that weighs around 400 grams. They're saying these creatures cost so much and that is because of its medical use; treatment for cancer and HIV/AIDS? . I have read the journals on that and if it has concrete basis then this is a big break-through on advance medicine. Has anyone here had actually sold a giant gecko or tuko to a legitimate buyer??

I've seen few time in my childhood giant gecko's or "tuko" but never heard this news about breakthrough of medicine using this creatures. Honestly,i haven't seen any nowadays...even in provinces. My kids even asking or wanting to see a live one when i show them an old marks/footsteps of giant gecko at my grandfather's house in the province. I remember my grandfather told me not to touch that giant gecko or else,if it will jump on me,the gecko's feet will stick on my skin and can not be easily removed,or it will peel off my skin too So,i am scared when i heard a giant gecko nearby. can u send link about this news that gecko's (tuko) are used as medicinal source. happy weekend and welcome to mylot

That is actually new to me. I also haven't read any journals that gecko can cure HIV/AIDS. If that so, I hope it can but that gecko is a wildlife animal and is endangered. We should preserve this kind of reptiles.
