I suggest you watch The Fighter which Christian Bale won the best supporting role in the Oscars. That was an awesome movie, it was a true story. It was about boxer Mickey Ward which Mark Whalberg played.

Some...well, most of these are quite old, but in my opinion, all very good and all English.
Atonement, That'll Be The Day, Secrets & Lies, The Family Way, Frenzy, Saturday Night & Sunday Morning, The Triple Echo, Gaslight, The English Patient, A Kind Of Loving.
