Hi everyone! How do you lessen your monthly bills? We are having financial problems at the moment although we are already working it seems that our debts keep getting bigger. We have a big family, and it means bigger expenses. My brother and sister just finished college, while the other one in high school. I don't know how to pay off all our debts but I'm trying my best to cut down on bills so some of the money would be paid off to previous debts. Your suggestions will be great help.

I would suggest that you first check on your bills and tackle the highest ones first. If its water, then cut your consumption. Likewise for the other utilities. For me, my biggest bill is on fuel. So, I try not to use my car as much as possible. If I can get a lift from my friends, I'll do that. If not, I take public transport instead of using my van that gets stuck in the traffic (that's where th fuel burn most). Next, is my food bill. But I've started to plant leafy vegetables using compost instead of fertilizers. I choose leafy vegetables because they grow faster than fruit types (tomatoes, lady's finger, bitter gourd etc.) and in this way, I can get a steady supply of veg. Actually you can do many little things to "save" and by saving, you reduce your consumption too. Well, if your family members can help out, so much the better. Don't take the burden alone. After all, they can be part of the solution. Hope this helps, and good luck.

There are ways to cut some expenses. Wash clothes by hands esp this summer,we can dry clothes naturally. Don't throw water after rinsing clothes, have an extra container then it can used for cleaning the bathroom and flushing the toilet bowl. Try to buy thing on sale, even with groceries, there's a lot of promo these days. Just think of things that you usually do and cut a portion of it's usage. happy weekend

There are lots of little things you can do that add up. Simple things like turning off the lights when not in use, unplugging things you don't use often, and turning the water off while brushing your teeth are good starters if you don't already do so. Check out LearnVest (Or learnvest daily, can't remember the exact name) which is a site that might be able to offer good tips. Also, check out your local power website or do a search to find out how to save energy in your home. Another excellent way to save money is by planting a garden. Fresh fruits and vegetables can be used as staples in your family's diet, and it will probably improve your health as well. Clip coupons when possible and buy in bulk at discount stores such as Aldi, Costco, WalMart, etc. Be sure to stick to a shopping list! Cut out any extras you don't need for your cell phone and cable bills, such as unlimited text messages or movie channels. I hope this helps a bit. Best wishes!

thank goodness we're all graduates now and working to feed ourselves, else my parents would still be working so hard to get us finish studyng. well if your brother and sister would be so kind to help the family out, that would surely be a big help. you can try budgeting stuff/grocery so you guys can add the extra to pay the bills, you drop the unnecessary things that you used to buy. you can minimize the electric consumption. it's not that big but at least you'll have extra.

Well, it is a tough call. Some ways are to do bulk purchasing of goods, and cut on costs, with discount coupons. Also, try not to go on too many trips with friends, and may be do additional part-time jobs, including may be some sort of freelance work to enhance your income.

Also, try to save on your electricity bills by using more energy-efficient lights, fans etc, and refrigerators, with a higher star rating.

Have a monthly financial plan where everything is included gives a good overview on all expenses. Calculate what is realistic on each one of your consumptions. When you cook meals you can do it in several portions for leftovers to go into the freezer. When you go shopping you can look for shorter dates on some groceries in stores where they have lowered the price. You can make a weekly menu or for two weeks at a time. Make a list on what you need. There are always way to save a water and electric consumption. Walk when you can instead of taking the car. Every time you are in a store ask yourself "Do I really need this thing?" If not then let it go. Every time you buy something save the reciept. Write down all expenses in a cashier book. Once a week evaluate all expenses. You get a clear overview over everything. It is a very good way to cut the expenses.

supermarkets usually offer deals and coupons, use them and do not be embarrassed. :) transportation costs also can be lessened. if you have a car, try car pooling instead.

Simple, don't buy anything unless you absolutely need it. Most people don't wear out their clothes. Don't buy clothes for fashion. Wear them all out. Do we really need cable tv??? One can still get tv free over the air. Don't eat all the fancy processed foods like chips, cookies, ice cream and all the fancy processed foods. You will find those steaks are expensive. Dried rice and beans can be just as tasty, more healthy too. STOP DRINKING SOFT DRINKS!!! THis alone can save you a fortune. Utilities every degree the wrong way is 3 percent higher. Wear a sweater in winter and shorts in the summer. There are a million ways to save money on what one does not buy. You just need to make those lists then actually do it.

I also had to cut back so I turned off my satellite and went to internet TV. I bought a Roku box (one time charge for buying it) then I subscribed to netflix and hulu plus so my bill went from 75 per month with Dish Network to 15 dollars with my Roku. I did buy 2 more Roku boxes for my kids tv's and they love it! check it out - you can save a lot of money.

Cutting down on bills?Oh,I think it's a problem. In my opinion, you just can do things that you can do by yourself.Another important thing is that you can make money by yourself. To get more and you will have more.Isn't it?
