Are you? Growing up, I've was always told that I was just a cry baby in general lol. I can't remember that far back, but I do cry when I see a very touching movie. Just this morning I was watching a movie in which had this one scene that was really sad. I don't know what it is, but kids playing a role that has to do with death is really touching for me so I just started crying. Anyway what about you, what makes you cry?

I actually own the movie "Crash" I need to watch it again to refresh my memory. I've never heard of "Its a Wonderful life" but I just might look into that movie. Today I watched "My Girl" I believe was the title, and a "Walk to Remember" with Mandy Moore was oh so said. That I couldn't watch in front of people. Oh and another movie called "Paid at Forward" i'm getting sad just thinking about it. hehe

OMG, I'm 61 & I've seen It's A Wonderful Life at least 50 times & I now cry at the beginning of the scene that makes us all cry!!! When I'm feeling down & depressed, I purposely choose a movie that I know will make me cry so I can get ALL those pent up feelings out of my system & then I feel better!!! When Patrick Swayze sings to Jennifer Grey at the end of Dirty Dancing I'm a blubbering idiot!!!

I've never heard of this movie "Hachiko" but any movie with a happy or sad ending can make me cry. Crying because you are happy just makes me feel joyous!

It really does sound like a touching story. It reminds me of how people would act in trying not to believe that their love one is gone, and they will return soon than later, so they keep coming back and coming back. Such a dedicated dog!

Sad movies make me cry. Happy movies make me cry. Love stories make me cry. Sweet movies make me cry. I just finished watch Toy Story 3 & I cried like a baby at the end...and it was a HAPPY ending!!!! I can't watch any of the Shrek movies without crying!!! That's one of the reasons I love watching movies...they make me feel a lot of emotions that I don't necessarily want to deal with in my daily life!!!!

I'm not a cry baby...I'm just EXTREMELY sensitive!!! I believe you' should cry when you feel the need. I think it is unhealthy to hold it in when it's trying to escape!!! I cry much easier at happy things than I do at sad things!!!

thanks for your comment, for some women it is really easy to cry while watching a movie because you get so emotionally involved with the film. Same as with men.

I think I am the biggest crybaby at the movies, and even reading some books.I still did not see Bambi,That should tell you all. That is why lately I rather watch comedies,or action movies.Lately,if I watch a sad movie,or read a sad book,it stays with me for a while, and I really do not like to feel sad.Life is short and I want to enjoy every minute of it!

I really need to watch Bambi again. I can honestly say I don't remember the movie all that well. I understand that you rather feel happy all the time, instead of sad and crying. I do believe it is good to cry, shows you have feelings and its really healthy for you.

Maybe going back when I was years old ,I would've cried a little . After experiencing the tough years of my life ,I barely cry when watching even a crazy heartbreaking one. But some great touching stuff do make me rethink where I'm gonna go in my life.

Lol, I bet that just means you're just more sensitive to that stuff. I tend to not cry a lot, but I think it's a necessary process to prove to yourself that you're human.

I used to cry when I watch movies like that but not anymore. I can control my emotions now. The latest movie I watch that was suppose to be emotional was the movie about a dog, Hachiko. I dont know if you know that movie. Its really nice and all that, my husband cried but I get to control my emotions. I admit it was also sad.

I think its really important to show emotions. Some other mylotter just responded about this same movie "hachiko" before this i've never heard of it. I should probably check it out. As another mylotter referred me to see "its a wonderful life" have you see this movie? they explained this its really tear jerking.

Welcome to mylot! Now thinking about what you said referring to sad songs. I was going through something at one particular time in my relationship with my boyfriend and I played this song "broken hearted girl" and I start singing with the song and just started crying, because the words did relate to my situation.

I cry on movies too. I actually had this discussion a week ago. I cried on Bambi. Yes.... Bambi. I cry on sad parts of anything. I feel like a big baby too. I try to hide it. I was thinking maybe it's the menopausal thing.. who knows. I just try to avoid sad movies to begin with. I'm a pretty happy person so I don't like feeling sad to begin with.

I don't mind sad movie. I don't think its makes you a bitter, sad or depressed person. It just gives you a moment to open your eyes full of emotions. Its healthy to cry, i also think its important too!

Its ok, men and women both have emotions. Some men just choose not to show it, some do. I don't mind seeing men cry, only real men are will to show/share emotions anyway!

I see nothing wrong with being a cry baby when it comes to sad movies. I feel you are a very emotional personal and able to express your emotions freely. I thought this is very good as it is healthy for your heart. I get emotional too when parts of the movie really touched my heart or when I felt the movie is reenacting my life.

I agree, for me emotions is something I can't hide watching a movie. If its really that touching i will ball my eyes out. Crying is healthy and much needed.

I wouldn't worry about being able to cry easily as it is a good sign that you are not bottling anything up. Like other men, I don't cry very easily, but this just builds up stress inside that can damage health. Research has shown that women tend to live longer than men, and I often wonder if this is because they cry more easily. I am better than I used to be as I have released so much pent-up emotion during daily meditation. Some say I should know better being a therapist, but I just say, hey! We are no different to other people and are subject to stress just like anybody else. We just know what we need to do, but it doesn't happen overnight! _Derek

I guess you get so use to hearing about other people's emotions you forget about your own? It's not common to find men or who would at least admit that they are a cry baby lol. This i'm sure you can't find anywhere, and it is definitely better to release pent up emotion before it gets the best of you.

Hi keshia! Don't feel bad! I am always crying when I watch sad movies
or even sad TV shows! I have one girlfriend that I used to go to the
movies with and she would laugh at me because I would be sitting there
at the end of the movies when the lights went on crying and my makeup
would be running! Since the movie theatres charge so much money now
and the movies go straight to DVD's within a few months I can now
watch them at home and cry all I want, without makeup and without
anyone making fun of me!

I agree, and what's better is instead of waiting on it to come on dvd within 3-4 months I'll screen the movies online for free. Once I was at a movie with a friend we went to see Seven Pounds with Will Smith. I was getting teary eyed, until my male friend made a comment saying "I know these people aren't crying" that just took my tears away lol, I didn't want to be made fun of at that time either.

recently children movies really started stationing in my heart, especially the movies about orphants. children's affection and expression are always true and pure.
i am often toughed when they show their tender feeling, even if facing the worst situation. when they are deeply hurt by those villians and their eyes reveal their desperation and helplessness,i will feel my heart is sharply pierced. cry out loudly generally avoiding others when i watch the movies alone.

I can completely relate to this. Touching movies with kids really gets me the most. This is true, their affection and expression always shows the truth, it is so pure and innocent. Just heartbreaking.

im the same. i love to watch tearjerkers in the afternoons and yes i do cry if its sad. just because people cry at sad films doesnt make them cry babies, it just shows we are emotional and some people cry easier than others

This is the second time i'm hearing about heart illness from crying. Other than people posting this on my discussion I've never heard this before. Can you explain more about what it is? And I'm in health care and I've never heard this, but hey you learn something new everyday.
