My mom bought me a shirt for a gift. She had it made for me. It has my name on the front and a picture of a wolf on the back.
I wore that shirt yesterday but I wasn't thinking that it had my name on it since I'm not use to wearing it.
I was at the store and a man said my name like he was trying to get my attention because he knew me. I said yeah, and he said your name is Margery isn't it. I said yet and examined his face trying to figure out how I knew him and then I decided to see who is was so I would know how I knew him. I asked who are you and then he smiled and said I know you from your shirt. I said oh, I was wondering how you knew my name. He got me good. He was acting like he knew me and then told me how he knew my name. It was embarrassing. I bet he had to tell his friends about that one to make his friends laugh

I bet he had a straight face too while he was looking directly at you. I could see me being fooled as well because it would not have dawned on me about the name on the shirt.
Similar thing happened to me once, see I have vanity plates with my name on them. So I get out the car at a new car wash I had never frequent before and a customer waiting for his car to be cleaned looked at me really serious and said hello with my name and asked how I was, he caught me for a minute and I said, I am fine and you.
I was puzzled thinking how do I know this person it was not until after he left that I put it together. lol

It is funny and embarrassing! It isn't funny to us at the moment but it is later on. The people that tricked us probably still get a laugh about it sometimes when they are amongst their friends trying to think of something funny to talk about.
I hope I don't meet up with him again at someones house that I know. Him saying wow she is the lady that I was telling you about and I know you your the lady.... Thank you for giving the best response. You did a good job sharing your experience!

He did have a straight face to where I thought he really knew me. It could even be someone I went to school with and I just didn't know who he was because of him changing in looks a lot. I didn't know where I could of seen him from. I bet he got a laugh later on from that.I probably looked funny examining him trying to figure out where I seen him from. I bet your situation was funny and embarrassing too. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Yeah, he was nice about it. He just wanted to be funny. He at least wasn't laughing at me but I bet he will with his friends .

That was funny and embarrassing at the same time that I fell for that .I was afraid that I was going to run into him again in the store while I was finishing up my shopping.That would be embarrrassing too .

Lol this discussion made me smile, you are right, if a person wears a shirt having name printed or engraved, all those see the person wearing it, will take it to be his/her name.
but there are shirts available that have names printed over them..
for me no problem, i wear sari, blouse you see..

Yeah, I had a alright time at the store. He was funny! He wasn't laughing at me at least
