My friend used to smoke heavily. We suggested him to stop it, but he neglected. Now in the past few days he said that he wants to quit smoking , he he was unable to do so.
Is there any remedy to help these kind of peoples who wants to stop smoking, but they are unable to do so.

I quit smoking for an extended period twice. The first time was for 10 years!! Then my life fell apart and dummy me went back to smoking. The second time I quit was about 3 years ago and I am pretty sure that is it for me and smoking. My motivation was I had to have a mitrol value heart repair..well open heart surgery is significant and serious enough to cause me to quit.
The process of quitting was harder the second time around. For me the worst was the weight gain and cravings. In fact it took a year before I stopped thinking about smoking. I figured that is because throughout the year so many memories are associated with smoking and it takes time to disassociate.
I highly recommend using the nicotine gum. I also took tranquilizers once in awhile. The gum is superior to the patch imo because one can better control the amount of nicotine you receive.
It's totally worth all the aggravation to quit. I lost the weight and feel so much better that I can hardly believe I ever smoked. I wish all success who go through the struggle!!

I can share you the experience for my dad to quit smoking. He would go to do some housework when he felt like smoking. So he wouldn't focus on the cigerate so much. He insisted to do so for a week. Then he wouldn't want to smoke so much. After a month, he got rid of it totally. I hope your friend will learn from it.
