When you get angry.. do you tend to break / throw things?

I have not known anyone who is capable of breaking things, when they get angry. But an officemate told me he knew someone who was like this in person. He was a former boss and when he gets angry, he shouts really hard and would even shame his secretary. And there was an instance too that he threw her stuffs in his table, whatever he was able to get his hands on he would throw it. One time, he threw a paperweight and it smashed into a glass door. So his company required him to undergo an anger management therapy. Well, anyway… have you been so angry that you threw things because you were not able control your feelings.

I don't break things because my grandma said breaking things will give you curse. It will make your life harder each day. I'm afraid to get cursed that's why if i get angry i just gnash my teeth to the max to express my anger.

Hi Chiyosan, I get pretty angry sometimes and I might cuss and swear and even say things that I really don't mean. That would be the worst of it. I don't throw things or punch things and I've never hit another person. My ex husband sounds like the person you describe here. That kind of rage is scary because it is so out of control and can turn to physical abuse real quick. Even without the actual physical abuse it is still considered abusive. It is scary to be on the recieving end of such anger. Throwing things and breaking things have the potential to hurt the other person physically even if not intended. For a boss to act this way is inexusable. And he still has a job?

No, I'm not. I never had loose control even how angry I am, or probably I'm still not in the limit of my control. But yes, I know people as such really exist. I remember I also had a boss of such attitude. Actually, I resigned for that reason. I could no longer understand her. When she gets mad, she could no longer accept any explanation. I didn't experienced to be the caused of her anger, but witnessing how she treated my officemates, bothered me so much. I was very much affected of what I saw in our daily routine. It made me scared and had sleepless nights thinking if I had commit mistakes, will I reap her anger the next day? Having these thoughts in mind made me to loose weight and thus bothered my parents. So I decided to just quit, but as it should be, I did it not for the real reason of course, for I'm sure she would get mad. But in fairness, if she's in good mood, she knows her faults, and actually ask advice if she needs to take anger management counselling. Well, I don't know now what happened to her as well as the company. But for me, if ever I would be in anger, I will try my very best to control for I know it would only be myself that would affected. And of course that would not do good for us.

No, I don't throw or break things when I get angry. Most times I just cry it out. I'm a big crybaby. i also prefer to cry it out, sometimes tell a friend, because when I get really mad I have the tendency to speak harsh words. I know its bad, and even after apologizing, i still feel bad, so I try my best to keep calm and rational.

there was a phase in my life when i was a teenager , i used to get angry for every small thing happening around which would make me irritated ... but as i went for higher education i had to live with my room mates and gradually i understood that to be in harmony with people outside your home, YOU MUST KEEP COOL... initially it was difficult... i had to control my anger to all the stuffs i hated before but then i succeeded by drinking water, by keeping silent though i felt bad, by meditating ....etc... and finally i became a cool person

I throw things when I'm angry. Not at work or out in public or anything. But I am known to throw things when I'm home. Nothing crazy like a TV or anything.. shoes, pillows, things like that. I've always been very, very angry and I think I had a good reason to be. I won't get into details but I had a right to be that angry.

Hi. chiyosan. Try me, throwing something at someone when they make me very angry. Now, I will do this. I think that this boss has some anger issues that he is dealing with. He needs immediate help! When I used to live with my in-laws, I would slam the door loudly and constantly when I was angry at my husband or with them. I am so glad to have moved from out of their house with them. Staying with them was never my cup of tea to begin with. But just throwing things when I get angry all of a sudden, means something is seriously wrong with me. Now, I would not do this at all.

When i was younger an anry moment often involved throwing things or something getting broken. My temper could get the better of me at an earlier age. Now that i am older I have managed to control those angry moments better.

I haven't done it. Every person is different and I couldn't know for the others, but I think this is overplaying. It happens in the movies and maybe we subconsciously try to be like them. If somebody is so angry, he shouldn't shoot his anger of the secretary or someone else. So, the anger management therapy could be a solution.
