I did not realized how smart she is to escaped inside her house.I am sleeping during the time she escapes and I don't know that she's already doing the "ESCAPE" thingy... Normally when I wake up every evening,I check and feed her with seeds. Her name is Puppy,My 1 and 3 months old hamster. However today when I check her cage (She stays inside my room) She's not there and I begin to worry.I try to search everywhere in my room, the cabinets, under the table and even in my guitar case but she's not there. What makes me confuse is that my bed (It's a foam with spring bed) do have a whole and I started and begin to thing that she is inside it.The whole is small and I'm beginning to sweat and I said to myself,I don't care I will destroy the bed and I immediately grab my Swiss knife and rush by grabbing the bed maybe its adrenalin rush that's why I did grab it like It's not heavy and started to slice edge of the bed I really got nervous and wounded my left hand with the knife as I kept thinking that she's dead or something. When the bed is destroyed just the half not the whole like I made a huge whole,I took a flash light I saw her,She's walking towards the light but she don't wanna get near to it so I grab a sunflower seed and try to tease her,It took 5 minutes to get her out of the bed and was crying a lot after I got her.My boyfriend just got home and shocked as I did not care that my hands are bleeding. It's really unbelievable day for me and I need a knew bed.:-) Now I lock the small door of the cage with wire as I figured out she can open it.Good thing she's safe and I feel better.

Lol that is scary but funny now to look back on it. Maybe she was trying to help you out so that you have a reason to get a new bed. Im so happy for you that you found her though before she got hurt that was very dangerous. Good thinking on your part to know she was in the bed..must be a mothers instinct lol.

hi insulin i am glad you found your hamster before she ran the risk of getting squashed in the bedsprings. I am sorry about your bed but probably it could be stitched up and nobody would know the difference at all.the sunflower seed must have done the trick do not you think? I have heard that hamsters like to crawl into holes. It must be fun having and raising a hamster too.

She is in better shape than you are now. Be sure to take care of the cuts on your hands so that they do not get infected.

Hamsters are very tricky that way, I am glad you figured out where she was. I have even heard of people having to put something heavy on the door of the cage to keep them in.

Maybe she finds the bed comfortable and you should put some soft bedding in the cage to help her.
