My husband and i are going for the day trip tomorrow, 12th , to be with our daughter in Manila (a far away city from our province)to attend her two graduations 13th & 15th. We will be staying there until the 17th.
Last night, my husband already prepared his bag while i will do mine tonight. I was teasing him, that it was still early to be doing it. But he said it's better to be ready already.
How about you guys, do you prepare for a trip the day before or several days before?

Your roomie is a bit like my husband, but more than him, because he prepares a month before the trip!
However, i guess, there's no harm in preparing ahead. It's just that, if you have lesser wardrobe, you have to take them out again from the bag in case you run out of your favorite ones.
I am like that. I have lots of clothes but i have my favorites which i like using almost always.

Wow! friend your husband is nice and they already packed everything. Friend I will wait for your returning. I am not prepared my bag several days before because everytime my train is missed out if I make a plan several days before so I prepared my bag only some hours before.
Hahaha because my journey is always in short distance my husband not like more journey and long distance journey. Happy Journey my friend

Thank you my friend. It was actually a very enjoyable trip. My husband and i had a nice time watching the sceneries and those movies being shown on the bus' DVD player.
This morning, 17th i did all the repacking for our return to the province -night trip tonight. I guess, my husband was just too excited last week. He left it to me now, all the repacking.

I usually pack my things a week before I travel. This is to avoid anyrush and to avoid forgetting the most important things to be brought. Enjoy your manila trip.

Thank you. We truly enjoyed our Manila trip. We will be going back tonight, 17th to the province. We were always out this week, so i hardly have time to Mylot, just now because i have done the repacking.
I guess, my husband was just too excited of this vacation to Manila to attend our daughter's graduation. Just this morning, he gave to me the task of repacking all our things in going back to the province.

hello simplyd,
I prepare my luggage the day before.
But if i have to travel at night,i can prepare hours before the travel time.
I don't prepare things too early.
I prefer to prepare things just hours before,to make sure that i am not forgetting anything.
My mind is pro-active with things that are needed and all i have to do is gather all things and packed up.
Enjoy your trip and again Congrats to your daughter and of course, take the most of it...parents deserves the effort as well

Thanks Jaiho. The two graduations - college and university graduation were all very nice and interesting events. We have been here since the 12th and will be leaving tonight, 17th for the province. Our daughter will follow next week, because she still has to attend to some details of her enrollment in Medicine.
Like you , i prepare hours before the travel or the night before the travel. Just a few hours ago, i did the repacking of our things. First, i laid them all in our bed then one by one packed them into our bags. That way, everything was packed.

Me I dont get too excited it's not my type, in a trip I pack my bags few hours before leaving. I remember I went to Cebu just to hear mass at the Sto. Nino shrine I left Cagayan de Oro at noon arrived at cebu attend the mass early morning and then fall in line to a waiting crowd to rever the statue and eat my lunch way to Park Mall and relaxed at Starbucks to wait for my ride bak to Cagayan de Oro City, it was a nice short trip.

Well, i guess you are one those happy go lucky types. Good for you because you don't have worries by being so. You just go the the tide just as you did when you go to Cebu as you said.
Keep up that spirit !

Yes, my husband is like them too. I am the opposite though.
I would arrange my things on the bag, the night before or hours before the travel.

I hope that you and your husband have a lovely time in Manila seeing your daughter at the time of her graduation. I make a packing list about three weeks before my trip. I go shopping for any other things I need for my trip. Then two weeks before my trip I have a go at packing my stuff and consider whether or not it is too heavy. Then I have plenty of time before my trip to get it easy enough to manage. A few days before my trip I have everything ready for my journey. Last minute acts them to be my children's drinks for our journey. I have my disabled son is a wheelchair which I have to push.

I can understand why you have to prepare your bags in advance. Last minute preparations will be for your kids. You are a wonderful and loving mother indeed.
Thank you , yes we had a wonderful trip coming here to Manila, the graduations went very well and we enjoyed this short vacation with our daughter. We shall be leaving again tonight for the province, though our daughter, will be going home next week, because she has to attend to some details of her enrollment in Medicine.

I'm usually the OC type and I prefer to prepare for a trip at least 2 days before. Especially if the trip requires me, my husband and my 1 year old daughter. I need enough time to list down the things that we'll need and I had to make sure that I won't have to cram a day before. I guess excitement is also one of the reasons why I tend to prepare a few days before the exact date of travel.

It's really the best practice to have a list of all things we need to carry with us on our travel. That way, we could easily gauge what are the other things we have forgotten, if the item on the list hasn't been checked yet, just as i would always do.

Yes, Professor, we did enjoy our trip coming to Manila. At the moment, i have just packed all our things to go back to the province tonight. We did the packing just a few hours ago, after hearing mass with our daughter.
I think, my husband was so excited in coming to Manila so he prepared his bag way ahead of our departure date.

I usually prepare our clothes the night before, but I still make a mental notation of what items I need to pack. A few days before, I usually buy some snacks for us to take while traveling. Food and water are quite expensive in ports or stations. It saves us some money which we can use in our travel.

We are the same here sweet_pea, in preparation and the savings of expenses. AS much as possible, i bring foods that are easy to cook, since we never know if the food that could be bought on those stops meets our standard of cleanliness. In addition, it is a lot cheaper to bring food and other provision.

When we have trip with my wife, its either my wife prepare for me or I will prepare it at the same day that we need to go. That's why sometimes she got mad to me if I forget something. But SYMPLYD, your husband is doing the right things. Preparing earlier is avoiding everything in rush. If you prepared as early as you can, the more peace of mind you will have.

Well, i guess so too. My husband likes it that he prepares his own bag and so do i. We both have our preferences on the things we have to put in our bags, that's why.
