Yes march to may depending on the area you are in, is usually a good period of time to plant trees so they may develop enough up to when the cold weather will come again. On 2 of april i am proud to have spend a whole day with my girlfriend and a few other good hearted people, all of us volunteers and even donors planting trees near Bucharest, at Snagov Forest. Okai so i attached a picture from the planting and i must say it was not easy at all :) but we are proud to have done it, we planted a total of 3000 trees that day, of which 90 were planted by me and Anca, so that's about 3% of the total :)

That's fantastic! 3000 trees is not nothing. Here in my country March is not exactly the month of planting trees, it's August-September actually. Here there's not a place or a asociation dedicated to that, but my mom and I love planting trees and flowers and fruits and vegetables in our garden so in November and when the summer is here we have lots of wonderful places and a clean environment. I wish we could do that in some others places too.

Hello mille feuille. Well it really depends on where in the world you are. Australia has only started winter recently, while here in Romania we are preparing for the upcoming summer, so it is normal for time for planting to differ in different parts of the world. The idea is that planting should be done in spring in those areas where there are 4 seasons.

I wonder how many of our fellow do it, to plant a tree to make a baby and to build a house, it seems that makes a real man ..... and finally, it seems to us there are more people than those who cut forest trees instill. I have a garden with 40 trees , somewhere in the mountains,i love nature .... so i appreciate the good work.

Ice Smile, that is great having a house with so many trees, but i imagine you also take some time to watch over and care for them. What types are they ? Fruit trees, or regular ones ? The one we planted were mostly oaks, with pear trees and mirobolam (corcodusi) trees for support and to help with shadows in the beginning of the life of the trees. As for what makes a man, i think that maybe the sum of his total actions should be taken into account, not a stereotype :)

Hello whateva and welcome to my topic :) I see you are from India. Check if there are any local non profit organizations or try to contact your local mayor office for more detail about places you can help. Trees should be planted either in your own yard / garden if you have one or at specified locations. We were "invited" at Snagov by the local authorities and the organization "More Green" (in english) took us there and provided us with water and sandwiches throughout the day to regain our strength.

Planting trees does have a lot of benefits. I have never planted as many as you have at one time as that is a lot, but I am sure since my husband did Forestry work back in the early 80s he has probably done this. But I can remember helping plant trees back in the Town I was growing up in as a kid, and I am sure when we went by there about 5-6 yrs. ago we may have gone by one of those trees as well.

You can tell your grandchildren that you planted those and they will be proud of you. You may even be having a picnic under one of those tree with them when you tell them. A big thank you to you both from me, because the you've done something the entire world will benefit from!

Good job! Our planet can be saved, yes, if more people become concerned with the state of our forests. I personally love tree-planting. We had tree planting activities in high school and I loved it! In college, I had a friend, who is an artist, who celebrated her birthday with us planting trees after a poetry reading session. When I started working, I once worked in a company where we celebrated is anniversary by planting trees. So to you, good job!
