Hello animal people. I am considering a Jack Russell for a pet. My last dog was a black lab/wire-hair terrier mix. I had him for 11 years and when he died in 2007 I was devastated and swore I would never get another dog. I miss not having a dog to ride around with me, and after several years of getting over the last one, I think I'm ready now. I would really appreciate it if some of you Jack Russel owners would tell me about your dogs. How they act, temperment, endearing qualities, annoying habits, health issues, and stuff like that. I don't know why I am suddenly drawn to this breed of dog, but I think they are really cool and I want one. Thanks, any info appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I've never owned a Jack Russel but my husband's Aunt has one. He is a yappy little thing. He seems to be pretty good tempered but he is very hyper. They are pretty cute dogs though. I once came across a website that helps match you to the type of dog you should get. It asks you some personality questions, type of place you live in, and stuff like that.
