I recently bought a new ASUS Bamboo series laptop that came with Windows 7 Home Premium. I got a USB from a friend of mine containing Windows 7 Ultimate. Naturally I wanted to upgrade. When I did, it erased all of the preinstalled drivers and I had to use my back up operating system, Ubuntu version 10.10. I really liked using Ubuntu, but I really good at using Windows. So which Operating System should I use.

Why don't you use both? You can install Ubuntu and Windows on your laptop. You can select which one you want to use after booting. I think on the Ubuntu homepage you should find some Tutorials or How TO's. I'm using Win Xp and Win 98 on my machine (Win98 because most of the viruses aren't working on it :P) I think this is possible with Ubuntu too. Another option could be a virtual pc. Its an operating system in a operating system. That means you just need a software like (vmware ITS FREE!) install it and then you can install ubuntu on it. When you want to use ubuntu you just need to start VmWare in your Windows and you got a fully working os. Just look on youtube for tutorials you'll definitely find some! :)

Great info!!!! I do have Ubuntu and Windows 7 Professional on a dual boot loader, the hard drive is partitioned. I think that having a setup like that is important. You never know when you might need one or the other. Wouldn't you agree? I downloaded Windows Virtual Machine and on it, I have windows XP 2000 Professional and Kubuntu. I think Im going to leave it how it is. Its in my best interest I do believe. Thank you for your input. Needless to say, I agree with you my friend.

Ubuntu is really gonna be a different experience for windows os users. But,still most of the people prefer windows operating systems coz they got used to it and it's quite simple too.Interms of security, ubuntu is a bit more secure than windows operating systems coz most of the viruses doesn't work with ubuntu.Interms of graphical interface and ease of use, windows ranks first. So,go ahead and use as per your requirement.
