I have a mac computer and was trying to download some stuff yesterday and couldn't because they were windows files and wouldn't work on my computer. It is so frustrating that microsoft and apple can't just work together to come up with a solution that would benefit both of them and make it easier for us, their consumers.

Yes, this is one of the consideration that one should make to buy mac or pc. There are more applications that works in PC better.
As for the solution to your problem, try to search on internet on the mac version of the application that you want. or otherwise you have to migrate the application to mac.

Hey misc, I too have a Mac and I love it. There are a few ways to get Windows on a Mac computer. The first way is to use Bootcamp which came installed on your computer. For this method you will need a Windows install disk and the bootcamp assistant will help you through it. The second option will require you to pay. The software, Parellel Desktop will allow you to open Windows in a new window. Check online for additional information
