What do you like better? BOXING? or MMA?

Do you think MMA is taking Boxing by storm? I do see the money fights are in boxing, still. But MMA seems like it's the new age of contact sports entertainment. It's just on a whole new level.

I like watching both. MMA has become recognized all over the world with the resurgence of the UFC. It has become a global sport. It doesn't matter what weight class you're on, the fans will watch it. Boxing on the other hand is based on who main events the fight. If it's pacquiao, expect it to be jam packed. The problem with boxing is you need certain boxers to sell the fight, to sell pay-per-views. We also tend to watch fighters who fight with excitement, as I said, when it's a Pacquiao fight, it's a sure hit, no matter who hi opponent is. In MMA, you're sure that you're gonna get an exciting fight regardless of the fighter. But I like them both, especially because I'm a fight fan.

I would agree. The way they market boxing is just different than MMA. In boxing, you have to prove your worth before they start pampering you to stardom. They need stars to sell pay per views. In MMA, the UFC really did a goodjob of hyping up fighters and making unknown fighters known to the public even at their start of their UFC careers. UFC really made a difference.

The big issue with boxing is something that Dana White from the UFC points out all the time-the best fighters don't want to get in the ring and fight. I use to love sitting and watching boxing back when it was on network TV. You learned about the fighters and if someone was good, you watched their careers. I still remember a young Tyson knocking people out and getting excited to see him fight again. The only time I see boxing in the news anymore is when someone gets arrested or when a fight falls through.
MMA picked up where boxing should be. They're throwing the best fights they can get out there and making fights as accessible to the public as possible. The fighters are encouraged to use social media to keep in touch with the fans, the promoters are putting together decent cards from top to bottom, and the UFC in particular is giving away free fights on Facebook.
Bring boxing back to network TV, let us get to know the fighters, and bring us great fights. It's not too much to ask.

I much prefer MMA. The fight are way more interesting to watch. Boxing is cool sometimes, but it has nothing on MMA.
