I used windows xp as my operating system in my desktop. I think windows xp has many features which are accepted by maximum number of computer users. The windows xp are to much user friendly so that the uses of computer became more easy for every users. I think it is very easy to handle and operate. I always recommend windows xp to my every friend and family members who use computer. I think uses of computer became more popular only by the help of windows xp.

Believe it or not, I'm new to XP, at least at home. I agree with you. The other day, I don't know what happened or what I did, but all of a sudden I was gettin g a error mesasage from fast recovery. And it wouldn't go away. I couldn't use half of my programs, couldn't even open up currently instaled software And part of the startup menu was covering my desktop items. My computer was a mess. I decided to dee if there was a safe mode like 2000 Turns out there is a rescue and recovery mode by pushing enter during startup. when it was done, everything was back to normal.

I agree with you. I am still use Windows XP and I am pleased to it. I don't even want to update the latest version of Windows 7 etc. I find it troublesome to reinstall the new operating system and then take some time to adjust to it. And after that, you shall also reinstall so many softwares again. So if it is not necessary, I don't think I will change my current Windows XP. I love China

I think so.I have been used windows xp for some years, and it works rather steadily though my computer is low-end.It is the feature of its steadiness that makes it widely popular.

Yes I agree, that's become part of peoples life since it was released. But I am using 7 in my laptop right now. In my desktop, I am planning to install ubuntu. I want to try this free OS, may be if I used in this OS, I can use two OS at the same time. :)

I think that Windows 7 is just as user-friendly. Just with better looks and a performance cost.

I like XP.. it is very nice and stable.. BUT! I am using windows 7 right now. There have been benchtests to see which is faster, XP vista or 7. In the tests, windows 7 won followed by xp and lastly vista. I think I can safely say it is better than XP in a lot of ways. It is not true that there is incompatible hardware. Windows 7 can easily search for drivers online. And for incompatible programs, there is also xp mode. In terms of visuals, i hate looking at xp. It is so cartoony! Unlike 7 which is sleek and serious. In everyday usage, I rarely have a crash on my laptop, probably once or twice a month. Windows 7 is very stable, and is made to handle large amounts of data more effectively than XP. For gaming, little do people know that games run a little more smoothly with 7. This is because 7 handles memory a quite differently than xp. Windows XP is nice, but Windows 7 IS the future of computing. In fact, I personally recommend windows 7 to family members and friends especially when they are having their first computers.

I personally am a MAC user, and am quite happy with Snow Leopard, but I do like XP. It is the only version of windows that I have ever been comfortable with, because it is a lot more user friendly than the other versions. It also crashed a lot less than Vista or 7. On your last sentence, I have to agree. XP did help a lot of new users get familiar with computers, and become more computer literate. I just wish Microsoft had made the stuff that followed more XP like.
