why is there a huge buzz about money nowadays?

I guess different people have different concept about happy life in relation to money. For majority of us, to live a happy life, to enjoy the luxury of lifestyle, we might also need significant amount of money to do so. So, money becoming more and more important to most of us. So, I am concerning about my money, and my earning too. I just need to be realistic.

i think because commodity prices are all going up and people are afraid if they dont have enough money they can go hungry. Everbody has to work and find sources of money just to keep up with the inflation. After earning enough is only the time to live a happy life. However, it is said that people's wants can never be satisfied so I dont really know when to get the time to live our happy life. :(
