Frieds lost their job!

Lately, I meet some of my friends who's been working abroad for quite long time and now with troubles and recession from the country where they work, they left no choice but going home here in my country with no job at all, although they bring home some amount of money, but I know it won't last and to say it's not enough. I kinda felt pity for them, because life was bit hard on their part, especially they have their own family that needed their support especially on financial matters. Anyway, I did try to help them find a job for the moment. That's the best thing that I can do. What do you think is the best thing to help those people? I was thinking of other ways to help them. What are ways you do to help your friend in need?
