whenever somethings up, do you have the urge to drink? i don't. i just have an officemate though that seems to want to drink whenever she feels sad, depressed, annoyed, bothered. i am not a drinker and i rarely drink even in social gatherings... so i wonder why some do need to have a drink once in a while. pls share why you think so? what can drinking really do?

Sometimes it beomes a habit drinking from one situation to the other but to the bright side it is good for the kidneys.

It sort of becomes a habit for some just like those that may eat, smile and or cry. I cannot drink much anymore, it makes me truly sick, so I don't have the urge to do so when I am under stress. I can once in a while but not on a habitual and or depressive point in my life.

For some people, this is just the way that they cope, or try to cope. I am more like you. I might have the occasional drink socially, but it's usually more like once every couple of months. I don't drink to cope or feel better or anything like that.

For some people problems can seem insurmountable. Drinking can seem like a way to forget the problems exist even if it is for just a little while. yet the problems will still be there for us later. Drinking may only add to the confusion instead of eliminating the problem. I don't see drinking as the answer.

I think that there are alot of people out there that think by having a drink that what ever their problems are will just go away.I never feel that i need or have a drink when i am feeling down, as sometimes this can make matters worse.I think that some people go over the top when they have a drink when they are feeling low.
