When I talk or discussing to many people, I can't speak well. I can't breath easily, feels my chest so heavy, my hand is shaking, my knee is like a marshmallow, my mind is like a black hole, there's no idea that coming out. I am so afraid whenever many people looking at me and waiting for what will I say to them. It makes my heart pump rapidly and my hand very cold. This is my greatest fear that enslave me a very long time. I know I need to overcome this but it is not easy. I have many plans right now to eliminate my fear with people, and it takes time, need a lot of practice and exposure. I know GOD will no let me to be in fear forever.
Mylotter's, what is your greatest fear?

you have to practice talking to people and to overcome that fear. YOu dont have to fear that always and practicing talking to people will enhance your personal relationship and also your english.
As for me, my greatest fear is that me and my family will get hungry.I am striving hard so that I can help my mother and father so that we will have food on our table and we can afford the things needed to live.

Thank you for your response and tips, I always see you in some of my discussions, and I will try to post some response to your discussions too.
And your right, as a matter of fact, I am doing this right now. I would say, I'm on the process for overcoming my fear. But you know sometimes I can't help myself to be nervous again in front of many people. It really takes time and practices to improve this self of mine.
GOD BLESS YOU! And see ya to my other discussion next time. :)

your response made me smile axl! Yes, everyday I am praying that the Lord will provide our needs and I am also working hard on that.
By the way, I dont usually begin discussions because my time is eaten up by answering in other discussions. Let's just say I am avid in answering discussions that is why you always see me :)

That's normal at the first stage of learning, you will surely get over into it.There I was in that kind of fear before but it faded gradually. It takes a lot of courage to build a self confidence and reliance. But soon as you get use to, it will be easier for you to express yourself.
Stay positive and think that feelings won't stay long before you.It will soon be gone and that you can do things without fear. You can do it!
Have a good day!

Just feel the fear and go for it! I think that was the mantra of a clothing brand before (No Fear) But, true enough, we must conquer our fears if we really need to. I have a lot of fears, and I deal with them to the best of my ability. Like, I also had your kind of fear when I was studying. But, because I accepted every opportunity where I need to speak in front of a crowd, I have somehow overcome it.

Of course you have to work on it. It won't happen overnight, right? And, know that God is working on you. One day, you will just find that you have finally conquered that fear of yours. Just remember, "If God is with me, who will be against me?"

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience about the topic, I sometimes can conquer it a little, and manage it somehow but never satisfied with the result because I know that's not what thing I want to happen. I will do what you said, "feel the fear and go for it!". GOD BLESS YOU!!! :)

first, understand that fear of speaking in front of large groups is the number one fear most people list as their most prominent.
i suggest, if you really want or need to speak to groups, begin speaking to small groups, even two or three people. work your way up slowly to larger groups. this may be hard to orchestrate, but it works. good luck.

You have to build some self-confidence, it's the only way you would overcome this situation. Not easy for a shy type of person. I used to have the same problem few years back but I have friends and workmates who are very supportive and helped me try to be at least confident in all the things I say.

Hi axlrate
I love you attitude here - it takes time, need a lot of practice and exposure. I know GOD will no let me to be in fear forever
Try out with some Public Speaking Classes. I am sure you can find one at your place. (The ones that teach spoken english too help in this segment, I mentioned these on another discussion of yours).
My greatest fear... Many. But the greatest - My Family. What if anything wrong happens to my love of live.

Hi thesids, glad to see your response again in my discussion... :D
And yes, I see your post in my previous discussion about the class. And I want you to know that I am planning now to save some of my money to enroll to an english proficiency class. I am always busy this past days in reviewing and studying some great techniques in earning online. I always sleep late to understand well the basics in the internet business, though it really makes me confuse.
And about your fear... I will say that was everybody's fear, but GOD's protection is always with us. HE will not let evil things come to us.
Thank you for your response and blessing my friend. I am really waiting for your response in every of my discussion, have a great time. GOD BLESS YOU! :)

I've been afraid of rats since my childhood, for reasons that I don't feel comfortable to talk of right now. I find them the most horrible creatures on earth and I start shivering even when I think of them (while I have no trouble with other creatures, such as mice and cockroaches). At one time, I was avoiding certain places just for fear I should meet a rat. Fortunately, I got over that habit, but I'm still afraid of them.
It seems to me you have a mild case of social phobia. You shouldn't let it get the best of you. Phobias can be very taxing, especially if they get out of control.
