What is the meaning of Marriage for you?

Wow, you are so noble about marriage. I would say that marriage is sharing... theoretically everything: the love, the sadness, the nervousness, the happiness, the financial aspects, the ideas, the fear etc.

Hi islooboy To me, Marriage is family - it is all about everything - the love, caring, the small fights, the patching up. A feeling to be. Suny above said about rebiths and Indian tradition. If that is true (I am not that staunch follower) I would love this same wife for all my future lives.

Now a days people look at marriage in different ways...some live together for years and never get marry...for me the meaning of marriage is commitment...commitment...commitment.

Marriage should be about selecting a lifelong partner that you are willing to remain with for better or worse. That meanings, in the beginning you both realize that marriage takes work and a lot of patience. And, the couple must also realize that if it doesn't work out, who is to say that the next partner isn't the same or worse, so it is better to stay together and work through the problems and your old age will be more fulfilled because you have grownup together. I see so many old people, lonely and alone because they left the marriage when they were young and now there is no one to share those golden years with. Marriage is a blessed commitment, if you can stick with it.

Marriage is the stage of life where we prove our maturity, meet the challenges, discover the unknowns, something to cry and be happy about, the time where surprises happen, a generally bumpy ride and a puzzle that has no end. Most men jump in and women happy to let them jump in not knowing the tangles that were ahead.

Marriage for me is a sacred union between me and my wife, bound by the blessings of the Almighty god, the father. We now join together in pursuit of whatever goals we plan ahead in the future and will always love and care for each other till the last breath of our life.

To me marriage means slavery for the woman and a power trip for the man. It is Only to have kids, love can be added but it isn't necessary. See I'm very old fashioned when it comes to marriage. So by the age of 7 I Knew I didn't want to have kids. And by 13 I knew I will never marry. I Still think for me , I have to choose between love or marriage. My view of love is a connection of equals. A connection Both choose to be in . A true partnership. I have noticed that many see marriage This way. I can't see how. The woman becomes a wife. A wife Can't be equal to his husband in my eyes. She is either better or less. But I have a friend where they are equal in the marriage. My parents had it too. So It's Just me who sees it as slavery. I have friends here saying marriage is just a paper and it doesn't change you . I say it Changes Everything. I wouldn't be allowed to be myself. I would resent Everything and make my husband's life a living hell. But I'm the total opposite with my guy. Yes i have a guy. Many hear my views and think , I will never fall in love or have love because I will never marry. These people equate love with marriage, I will Never do that.

Fulfill the all dreams and wishes of my partner without demanding back well, that is sound one side for me. marriage is two side, i guess we have to try to make happy each other and understand each other. that is the meaning for me

Marriage means both are accept each other with their shortcomings. Both are trust on each other. It is the assumed in my country that pairs are decided in the heven.

Marriage for me is a teamwork where both parties always do things for the benefit of the team. There is trust in each other that the other one will be able to deliver his or her task for the good of the whole team. Now when a husband or wife cheats, that is obvious a deviation to what and how the team was built on. In a team, nobody is superior to the other although on must be the leader,an able leader which is the husband or the one wearing the pants in a family.If the leader of the team is not able to perform his duties, for some reason, the team member should help him out while he is not not able yet.In the end, its is still teamwork ...and whoever becomes the leader, still the goal would be for the good of the team

well i have never been married but if i was i would expect us to be best friends, lovers and a perfect match. obviously we would have ups and downs like everyone and as far as i am concerned if someone was not happy in their relationship then they should end it and not go looking for anyone else

For me, marriage is having someone you can happily grow old with.

marriage for me is a sacred ordinances of God, that husband and wife should love each other uncoditionally, willing to accept both of them their personal character, whether it is good or bad, willing to give one another for those weaknesses they have... Marriage don't always ends perfectly but they should learn to understand the meaning of the real love for them. Marriage is a form of worship that sanctity should be maintained by both parties, both husband and wife. Marriage aims to establish a prosperous and happy family forever. When I was still young I tell my friends that I don't want to be married someday because I see it as a bondage. I also consider it a lifetime commitments. I told them since I can't commit that I'd be willing to sacrifice a part of my life and freedom then I don't want marriage. However, when I met my husband and we began dating and eventually officially dating as a couple I told my self that maybe I'd want to get married after all. So I did. I'm now married with him and we now have two kids. Now that I'm married I still consider it as a lifetime commitment. I have accepted him for what he is. I know he is not perfect but it does not make him a bad man. We have our ups and downs and when I get really mad I tell myself I want this over. However, when the anger is no longer there I still find myself wanting to spend the rest of my life with him. I don't commit when I'm not sure I can't keep my part. That's the reason when I got married and I committed my self to be by his side through riches and poor always whatever happens then I know there's no going back. It will be different though if my partner is abusive. In the first place, I would never marry a man who shows signs of being abusive. I would get to know the person very well first.
