I fell on the ice and broke my knee cap, so now I am in a cast in my right leg. Now I am the type of person who does not loose when I am sick or cannot move around, I gain. So keeping my leg up all day and resting in the chair does not do me any good even though the doctor says so, I have to move around. I am already doing weight lifts for my arm and upper body, but what I am concerned with is my tummy.
Obviously I cannot do leg lifts, so how do I lose that pouch on my abdomen? Yes I know all about the eat more fresh veggies, fruits, etc. cut down on sugars and fat deals. I am just talking exercise now.

Try crunches. When you're lying down or reclining, lift yourself up and feel the muscles in your abdomen tighten up.
Another thing that might help is to tighten your stomach muscles for 10 seconds or so, then let them relax. Tighten up...relax, etc.
Hope these ideas are helpful.

I cannot do situps as I can only band one leg. It is also hard to lift my injured leg up more then a few inches. But I will try that holding my stomach muscles/ I did hear that that would work.

The trouble is that I cannot even bend my knees. So putting pillows underneath would not work.

Crunches! that was the word I was looking for. I found this video that shows how to do them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W6bVf1QAKo
You don't need to lift your legs. If you put pillows under your knees for support, it might still work for you.

Is there still a way that you can lay in the floor and do some half sit ups? That would help your abdomen muscles. You could also lean against a countertop and do push ups against it while standing and that will help your stomach muscles also.

Take those weights a lie down, arms at your sides with the weights in hand. Lift them up as you exhale then inhale when you lower your arms. This will exercise your abdomen. Can you do any sit-ups in the position you're in, or lean back far enough that it tugs at your abdominal muscles? That will work, too! Where there's a will, there's a way. Good luck!

Wow! I feel your pain. 3 yrs ago I fell on the ice and crushed my ankle. I still have a great deal of pain and walk with a limp. I had the double sided surgery that put in a plate and about a dozen screws. I just got them out last year. My ankle is still swollen, and I'm afraid I'll never be able to wear my 4 1/2 inch spiked heels again
Is it possible for you to put some pillows under your knees in bed and do some sit ups, or that abdominal curl (I'm not sure of the technical name)that puts less strain on your neck? Alternatively, how long do you expect to be in recovery? Maybe you can just wait 'til you have healed and then take up an exercise regime.

I will still be in the cast for at least 4 more weeks. The trouble is that I cannot bend this leg. I can do walks and hold my stomach in and I can lift my head and upper body ;but that is all. And that bit I want reduced is just above my thighs.
