I recently purchased a book because it look really, really interesting. As always, I checked to see if it was part of a series. Apparently, I didn't check well enough, because after really getting into it, I found out it was the second in a trilogy. I really dislike starting the middle, preferring to read series from start to finish. Do you feel the same way, or can you hop around a series willy-nilly?

I prefer to read a series from the beginning and go in order. I can't stand it when I miss stuff or get stuff switched around! I try very hard to make sure the book I'm reading isn't part of a series. I hate it when it's totally hidden! lol I prefer the number be stamped on the spine so I know for sure which one it is.
Then when you can find the series number it seems the bookstore/library need has #1. lol

I definitely feel the same way. I love to read Series and I have started reading a book in the middle. What I did was put the book aside and find the first book.
Now I just make sure I check very carefully. There are many sites that would help you to determine which book would come first in a series!!
So what is the name of the series you are reading?
