If you know or familiar with lots of desktops and laptops specs, you might be able to explain this. I figure computer engineer will be able to easily.
I personally am aware of what it is. If I try to explain it in one sentence, it has to do with performance, power consumption and speed of a computer. It may have been vague.
I could use some input. How would you explain it in few sentences to people that are not familiar with this or any technical specs?

it is faster than a dual core since it has two cores with two threads each, simply put two times faster than a dual core... capable of multitasking at a faster speed with low energy consumption..
